Exchange Teachers. A leave of absence of up to one (1) year may be granted, upon Board approval, to any tenure teacher upon application, and acceptance thereof, for the purpose of participating in exchange programs in other states, territories, or countries, provided said teacher states intention to return to the school system for at least one year. Upon returning from such exchange program the teacher will be placed at the position on the salary schedule that would have pertained had the teacher taught in the district during such period.

Exchange Teachers on leave from the District as an exchange teacher shall be considered to be fully 7 employed by the District with all rights, benefits and salaries and shall return to the same 8 assignment and classroom at the end of the exchange assignment.
Exchange Teachers. Teacher exchanges with other Districts in the United States or with English-speaking teachers from foreign countries may be authorized. Bargaining unit members granted such exchange privileges are expected to return to the service of the District after one (1) year of exchange and serve in the District for at least two (2) years. Arrangements are to be made on an individual basis by the administration with the approval of the Board.

District approval must be obtained by an employee prior to seeking participation in an exchange program and such approval will be granted only if specific conditions associated with the individual exchange are acceptable to the District and if the District program will not be harmed by the specific exchange being proposed.
Exchange Teachers. 1. The Committee encourages proposals indicating possible educational benefit to Methuen students by means of a Teacher Exchange program including a teacher with professional teacher status in Methuen and a teacher from outside the district and even from outside the United States. 2. The visiting teacher shall be paid in accordance with the Methuen salary schedule and shall be subject to all laws which may apply, as well as all policies, rules, and regulations of the Committee, including this Agreement. 3. All exchange arrangements are subject to the approval of the Superintendent.

The employee must receive Board approval prior to accepting an exchange teaching position. This certificated employee shall retain all tenure and other employment rights with prior position and assignment guaranteed for the subsequent year upon return to the Lincoln Public Schools. A full year of experience shall be granted a certificated employee on exchange for each year of exchange service. Such service shall not interrupt the employee’s seniority.

Exchange Teachers. In any one year, up to one percent (1%) of the Teachers may be exchanged for teachers from some other school administration district in the United States or in a foreign country. Such exchange shall be initially recommended by the Superintendent to the Board which shall be entered into between the governing bodies of the school administrative districts concerned and shall include, among other appropriate provisions and requirements, provisions for: (1) A written acceptance of the reciprocal agreement on the part of the teachers entering into the exchange. (2) A certificate of good mental and physical health on the part of both teachers. (3) An exchange of credentials and recommendations between the officials of the schools involved. (4) All exchange arrangements to be for a period of one year. (5) The Board to continue the exchange teacher in the Danbury School System on regular salary status. (6) All rights and privileges of the Danbury Teacher to continue in effect during the exchange period.
Exchange Teachers. Exchange teachers will be granted up to ten days off during the first year they are on exchange (the Board to cover the cost of the substitute teacher) provided that the time off is taken as an addition to the Christmas or Easter vacation. Leave of absence under this agreement shall be granted to teachers in accordance with Board policy number 11-A-11. Application for leave of absence shall be made in writing to the Superintendent of Schools.
Exchange Teachers. Teachers retain all rights and obligations in the employing district as though teaching in that district.
