EXCHANGE TEACHERS LEAVE. In any year teachers may be exchanged for teachers from another school administration district in the United States or in a foreign country. Such exchange shall be initially recommended by the Superintendent to the Board of Education, which shall recommend final action. All rights and privileges of the exchanged teacher will continue in full force during the exchange period.

EXCHANGE TEACHERS LEAVE. The Board shall grant any tenured teacher a leave of absence without pay or other cost to the Board for a period of one (1) complete year to teach in a foreign country under the provisions of the Exchange Teacher Program (P.L. 584, 79th Congress and P.L. 402, 80th Congress, as amended).
EXCHANGE TEACHERS LEAVE. In any one (1) year, a reasonable number 9 of teachers, as determined by the superintendent, may be exchanged for teachers from 10 some other school administration district in the United States and in a foreign country. 11 Such exchange shall be initially recommended by the superintendent to the Personnel 12 Committee which shall recommend final action to the Board. Agreements for such an 13 exchange of teachers shall conform to the provisions of any international education 14 exchange program administered by the US Office of Education or be entered into 15 between the governing bodies of the school administrative districts concerned and shall‌ 16 include, among other appropriate provisions and requirements, provisions for each of 17 the following:
EXCHANGE TEACHERS LEAVE. Exchange of employees with Boards of other Districts may be approved. Only employees with tenure status shall be candidates for exchange positions. All exchange employees shall meet certification, health, and other requirement specifications by the state and local regulations operative in the Districts and positions of their respective assignments. Permanent employees in exchange service shall be paid by his/her own employer. Salary increments shall accrue as if the employee were teaching within his/her own district. Sick leave shall accrue if the exchange assignment is outside the State of California. All applications for exchange positions shall be filed in writing with the principal and shall be forwarded to the Superintendent's office by February 1 of the year preceding the proposed assignment. Approved requests shall be forwarded by the Superintendent to the Board for action. Denied requests shall be returned by the Superintendent to the applicant through the principal's office as soon as Board action is taken. Final approval of any exchange is subject to a favorable action by both governing Boards of the school Districts concerned.
EXCHANGE TEACHERS LEAVE. At the discretion of the Board, in any year teachers may be exchanged for teachers from some other school administration district in the United States or in a foreign country with the teacher's consent. All rights and privileges of the exchanged Newtown teacher shall continue in full force and effect during the exchanged period.
