Firefighter Paramedics. Current City of Sparks Firefighters who wish to transfer to the position of Firefighter Paramedic and who have the proper Paramedic Certification and Nevada License may do so by making the election to Human Resources. This assignment will require a three (3) year commitment from the Firefighter during which time the Nevada Paramedic Certification must be maintained. After three (3) years, those individuals who have elected to take the position of Firefighter Paramedic may elect to subsequently renew such commitment every three (3) years or return to the position of Firefighter. Such election to return to Firefighter shall result in the applicable decrease in pay as set forth in Appendix A. Firefighters must maintain the EMT-A certification in accordance with Paragraph 2 of this Section.

Firefighter Paramedics. 33.1 Firefighter/Paramedic De-Certification – A board consisting of one Chief Officer (Fire Chief or Deputy Chief), one Battalion Chief, one Union official, one Firefighter/Paramedic and one Physician (Base Station, Supervising or Medical Program Director) will meet at the request of the Firefighter/Paramedic to review the circumstances of the De-certification. In Washington State, the certification of a Paramedic is a property right and the responsibility of the employee to meet the requirements of the Paramedic certification as a condition of employment. 33.1.1.1 If a Firefighter/Paramedic drops his/her certification as a Paramedic for their own reasons and no position is open with the District to rollover to, the Firefighter/Paramedic will be placed on unpaid leave. The Firefighter/Paramedic will be eligible to take the first Firefighter position that opens within a period of one year, provided that the Firefighter is still certified as an EMT. After a period of one (1) year, the District has no further obligation to the former employee. 33.1.1.2 If a Firefighter/Paramedic is promoted to an officer position, they may request to drop their paramedic certification. At the District’s discretion, considering the operational needs of the organization, the request may be honored immediately or within two (2) years.

If the employee is willing to attempt re- certification, the District will keep the employee on paid leave or on duty as a Firefighter/EMT, at the discretion of the Fire Chief, until the employee is re-certified or two months, whichever comes first. During the two-month period, while the Paramedic is attempting re-certification; he/she must document their efforts to re- certify and submit these in writing to the Fire Chief on a weekly basis. If classes are not available at the time, the Paramedic may be retained as an employee, in the capacity of Firefighter/EMT, if their EMT status is not in question by the Xxxxxx County EMS Office, until the classes are available to the employee. This plan covers reconstructive surgery and procedures when the services are performed to relieve pain, or to correct or improve bodily function that is impaired as a result of: • a birth defect; • an accidental injury; • a disease; or • a previous covered surgical procedure.   • SERVICE MONITORING, ANALYSES AND ORACLE SOFTWARE 11.1 We continuously monitor the Services to facilitate Oracle’s operation of the Services; to help resolve Your service requests; to detect and address threats to the functionality, security, integrity, and availability of the Services as well as any content, data, or applications in the Services; and to detect and address illegal acts or violations of the Acceptable Use Policy. Oracle monitoring tools do not collect or store any of Your Content residing in the Services, except as needed for such purposes. Oracle does not monitor, and does not address issues with, non-Oracle software provided by You or any of Your Users that is stored in, or run on or through, the Services. Information collected by Oracle monitoring tools (excluding Your Content) may also be used to assist in managing Oracle’s product and service portfolio, to help Oracle address deficiencies in its product and service offerings, and for license management purposes. 11.2 We may (i) compile statistical and other information related to the performance, operation and use of the Services, and (ii) use data from the Services in aggregated form for security and operations management, to create statistical analyses, and for research and development purposes (clauses i and ii are collectively referred to as “Service Analyses”). We may make Service Analyses publicly available; however, Service Analyses will not incorporate Your Content, Personal Data or Confidential Information in a form that could serve to identify You or any individual. We retain all intellectual property rights in Service Analyses. 11.3 We may provide You with the ability to obtain certain Oracle Software (as defined below) for use with the Services. If we provide Oracle Software to You and do not specify separate terms for such software, then such Oracle Software is provided as part of the Services and You have the non-exclusive, worldwide, limited right to use such Oracle Software, subject to the terms of this Agreement and Your order (except for separately licensed elements of the Oracle Software, which separately licensed elements are governed by the applicable separate terms), solely to facilitate Your use of the Services. You may allow Your Users to use the Oracle Software for this purpose, and You are responsible for their compliance with the license terms. Your right to use any Oracle Software will terminate upon the earlier of our notice (by web posting or otherwise) or the end of the Services associated with the Oracle Software. Notwithstanding the foregoing, if Oracle Software is licensed to You under separate terms, then Your use of such software is governed by the separate terms. Your right to use any part of the Oracle Software that is licensed under the separate terms is not restricted in any way by this Agreement.

  • Training and Professional Development 11.1 The Employer will develop and maintain an employee training and development plan and provide such plan to the Union upon request. Staff training is intended to provide an opportunity for classified staff employees for training sponsored by the University Training and Development and the UW Medical Centers Organizational Development and Training. Education/Professional Leave is intended to facilitate employee access to continuing education opportunities. Training and educational/professional leave may be used for the purpose of improving job performance, maintaining and increasing proficiency, preparing staff for greater responsibility, or increasing promotional opportunities within the framework of staff positions available at the University. 11.2 Any release time for training for employees accepted for such classes shall be in accordance with the Executive Order (currently No. 52) governing this matter. In the event that two or more employees request the same training period and supervision must limit the number of persons who may participate at one time due to work requirements, the selection will be made on a mutually agreeable basis within the department. 11.3 The training program is a proper subject for discussion by either departmental or University-wide Joint Union/Management Committees. 11.4 If the Employer requires an employee to receive training, reimbursement will be provided in accordance with the University travel rules. Employee attendance at Employer required training, either during or outside working hours, will be considered time worked and compensated in accordance with the provisions of this Agreement. 11.5 Employee attendance at training not required by the Employer and not covered by Executive Order 52, either on approved leave from or outside of working hours, will be voluntary and not considered time worked.

  • Training and Promotion a. The contractor will assist in locating, qualifying, and increasing the skills of minorities and women who are applicants for employment or current employees. Such efforts should be aimed at developing full journey level status employees in the type of trade or job classification involved. b. Consistent with the contractor's work force requirements and as permissible under Federal and State regulations, the contractor shall make full use of training programs, i.e., apprenticeship, and on-the-job training programs for the geographical area of contract performance. In the event a special provision for training is provided under this contract, this subparagraph will be superseded as indicated in the special provision. The contracting agency may reserve training positions for persons who receive welfare assistance in accordance with 23 U.S.C. 140(a). c. The contractor will advise employees and applicants for employment of available training programs and entrance requirements for each. d. The contractor will periodically review the training and promotion potential of employees who are minorities and women and will encourage eligible employees to apply for such training and promotion.
