Paramedic Pay a. Effective January 1, 2000, employees assigned full time to perform duties of a Paramedic who meet or exceed performance standards in all critical tasks on their annual appraisal shall receive $50.00 per month. Employees who maintain their paramedic rating that are not required to do so by the Department or, are assigned to a position that does not require the use of their paramedic skills do not qualify for the incentive pay.
b. If an employee is assigned in an administrative capacity to perform the duties of a Paramedic other than in the flight program (i.e. Academy Instructors, State Capitol) he/she will only receive the incentive pay while in that assignment. Reassignment of those officers will be at the discretion of the appointing authority or designee and shall not be considered a removal for cause.
c. Notwithstanding any other provision in this Agreement, the provisions of this section shall be grievable up to Level III of the grievance procedure.
d. This item will not be considered compensation for retirement purposes.
Paramedic Pay. 1. Effective July 10, 2017, Paramedic Pay was incorporated into the base hourly rate of pay of each Paramedic classification and eliminated as a premium pay.
Paramedic Pay. A. The City shall pay a monthly stipend of $696.90 for each full month (paramedic pay period) an employee is assigned to serve as a paramedic. For each partial month that an employee is assigned to serve as a paramedic (e.g., new hires, advancements, or personnel terminating employment with the City), paramedic pay for that month shall be prorated based on the following formula: The basic monthly stipend rate shall be divided by the number of days in the subject month. The resulting answer is then multiplied by the number of days in the subject month the employee was assigned to work as a paramedic.
B. Paramedic pay shall, to the extent possible, be evenly distributed and paid to the eligible employee for each payroll period during the fiscal year it is earned.
C. An employee shall be eligible to receive paramedic pay only upon meeting the following qualifications:
1. He/she is licensed as a paramedic through the State of California;
2. He/she has local accreditation/certification as a paramedic through the County of San Bernardino;
3. He/she retains proper Firefighter and paramedic accreditation/ certification throughout his/her employment with the City, and
4. He/she is specifically assigned to work as a paramedic for the City.
D. Paramedic pay is subject to overtime for the purposes of calculating regular and FLSA overtime.
E. Increases and/or decreases in the number of assigned paramedics eligible to receive paramedic pay at any one time shall be determined by the City Manager, pursuant to direction from the City Council/Personnel Committee.
Paramedic Pay. Applicable to Fire Department personnel when assigned to the Mobile Intensive Care Division as follows: • 10.00% above the monthly pay step of Firefighter when first assigned • 11.25% above the monthly pay step of Firefighter after the first license renewal as a City employee • 12.50% above the monthly pay step of Firefighter after the second license renewal as a City employee • 13.75% above the monthly pay step of Firefighter after the third license renewal as a City employee State Mandated Change - Any employee receiving Paramedic certification pay will not be adversely affected should the State mandate a change in the duration of the license renewal period. Paramedics will receive the same incremental increases for license renewals.
Paramedic Pay. 1. Effective January 1, 2018, Battalion Chief Paramedics will receive a $1,000 Paramedic Certification bonus upon biennial Paramedic License recertification, not to exceed one payment in a 24- month period.
2. The parties agree that to the extent permitted by law, this is special compensation and shall be reported as such pursuant to Title 2 CCR, Section 571(a)(2) Paramedic Pay as special compensation.
Paramedic Pay. Members of the bargaining unit who are assigned to the 4 Twenty-Four (24) Hour Division or Peak Load Division and are certified paramedics will receive 5 paramedic pay (“Paramedic Pay”) of $8,500 $7,500.00 per year when they obtain clearance from 6 the Alachua County Medical Director. All Paramedic Pay will be calculated into the hourly rate 7 of the member.
Paramedic Pay. 1. Firefighter I and II Paramedic Differential Pay is 11% of the employee’s base pay. Firefighter I and II Paramedics and Support Paramedics appointed by the Fire Chief shall receive the Paramedic Differential Pay for a minimum of 90 days. Continued receipt of differential pay will be dependent on compliance with all stipulated requirements in Article XIII of this agreement. If the stipulated requirements are complied with between the 1st and the 15th of the month, Paramedic Differential Pay will begin accruing the 1st of that month. If the stipulated requirements are complied with between the 16th and the last day of the month, the Paramedic Differential Pay will begin on the 1st of the following month.
2. Support Paramedics shall receive 6% Support Paramedic Differential Pay. Support Paramedic Differential Pay shall be calculated as 6% of the employee’s base salary.
Paramedic Pay. A fire fighter certified as a paramedic for assignment to the Emergency Medical Service will receive an additional salary increment resulting in the schedule of salaries shown in Appendix "B" hereof which is for all purposes made a part hereof. Such payment will continue so long as the employee:
a) performs such skill as assigned by Department scheduling for the Emergency Medical Service, and
b) retains the Paramedic certification by fulfilling all training and retraining requirements. Bargaining unit members in the position of Regular Engineer Driver and Lieutenant who have their certification as Paramedic shall receive additional compensation in the amount of $500.00 annually for maintaining such certification which shall be a part of their regular salary, but will not increase pursuant to regular wage rate increases. Paramedic Regular Engineer Driver and Lieutenants will be expected to perform the duties of Paramedic to ensure proper maintenance of skills. Such employees’ duties shall be supplemental to their regular duties and shall not displace such duties nor shall such employees who are certified as Paramedics be counted toward the minimum staffing established for each shift for Firefighter/Paramedics.
Paramedic Pay. Applicable to Fire Department personnel when assigned to the Mobile Intensive Care Division as follows:
Paramedic Pay. Employees who are certified by the District as a paramedic and by management to perform paramedic functions on a full-time regular basis, in addition to their regular fire suppression duties, shall receive a paramedic pay bi-weekly differential equivalent to 12.5% of the top step Firefighter level (i.e., $318.92). Employees receiving such pay are required to maintain certification and to perform paramedic duties. Upon written request, a Certified Paramedic will be considered for placement in a current or future vacancy in the same rank, which is not designated as having paramedic responsibilities. An employee who is not regularly assigned as a Paramedic but who is certified by the District as a paramedic, and is actually assigned by management to perform paramedic functions on an occasional relief or special assignment basis, shall receive a bi-weekly differential equivalent to 1.5% of the top step Firefighter level (i.e., $38.27). Employees receiving Paramedic Pay shall not be eligible to receive EMT Pay in addition to the Paramedic Pay, with the exception of employees assigned to the Needles, Xxxxx, and Airport stations Employees assigned to these three stations who are certified by the District as a paramedic shall be eligible to receive the unassigned Paramedic Pay bi- weekly differential equivalent to 1.5% of the top step Firefighter level (i.e., $38.27) in addition to the EMT Pay bi-weekly differential equivalent to 2.5% of the top step Firefighter level (i.e., $63.78).
