Fixed Date Holidays. The above fixed date holidays shall be added to the annual leave of each employee in the Bargaining Unit at the rate of eight (8) hours for each holiday in the month the holiday occurs. To be eligible for such accrual, an employee must have worked or have been on paid leave on the employee's regularly scheduled workdays before and after the holiday. The City may, at its sole discretion, release non-essential personnel scheduled to work on a fixed date holiday. Such employees shall submit a leave form for the scheduled work hours off with pay and be considered on holiday leave. Such employees who are scheduled to work on a holiday who are released without at least fourteen (14) calendar days’ notice will have the day off with pay and will not be required to submit a leave form. Additionally, the City may declare “City Manager Holidays”. An employee who works on these holidays will have eight (8) hours added to their floating holiday bank, which must be used within twelve (12) months of accruing such time.

  • Worked Holidays Employees who are required to work on the above-named holidays shall receive the pay due them for the holiday, plus double their base rate for all hours worked on such holiday, plus shift differential if applicable, unless the employee starts to work at 10:00 P.M., or thereafter on that day.

An exception to this requirement will occur if the employee(s) can furnish proof, satisfactory to the District that because of illness they were unable to work on either of such shifts, and the absence previous to such holiday, by reason of such illness, has not been longer than 30 regular workdays, and they received sick pay for the day(s) missed.

  • Statutory Holiday Pay Employees who qualify for statutory holiday pay shall be paid an average day's pay on the Statutory Holidays above, based on the following: amount paid / days worked. “Amount paid” is the amount earned by the employee for work done during the thirty (30) calendars day period preceding the statutory holiday, including vacation pay but excluding overtime pay. “Days worked” is the number of days the employee worked or earned wages during that thirty (30) calendar day period.

  • Scheduled Holidays Holidays for certain employees, typically 24/7 facilities, are pre-scheduled on days other than the holidays mentioned in Section 1. This schedule is determined in advance. If employees who have their holiday pre-scheduled are required to work on that pre-scheduled holiday day, they are compensated as follows:

  • Paid Holiday Pay Payment for holidays will be made at an employee’s basic pay, except if an employee has been working in a higher paid position than her regular position for a majority of the sixty (60) working days preceding her holiday, in which case she shall receive the higher pay.

  • Special Holidays A Special Holiday is a holiday declared a holiday by the University for its employees other than a Saturday, Sunday, General (Statutory) Holiday or day declared by the University to be in lieu of a Statutory Holiday. The rate of pay for the Special Holiday shall be that which the employee would have received if she/he had worked.
