Goods, Services, Training and Employment. The Contractor shall take reasonable steps to comply with the proposals which accompanied its application under sub-Section 5.4 of the Code for this Agreement in respect of training, employment and the acquisition of goods and services (such proposals are specifically listed at Annex D), and shall: (a) give persons based in Timor-Leste a real opportunity to compete for delivery of goods and services, provided they are offered on competitive terms and conditions; (b) with due regard to occupational health and safety requirements, give preference in employment in Petroleum Operations to nationals and permanent residents of Timor- Leste; and (c) within thirty (30) days of the end of each Calendar Year, submit to the Designated Authority a report demonstrating compliance with the above obligations.

Goods, Services, Training and Employment. Each Contractor shall comply with the proposals which accompanied its application under Article 13 of the Act for this Agreement in respect of training, employment and the acquisition of goods and services, and otherwise shall: (a) give preference to the acquisition of goods and services from persons based in Timor-Leste, provided they are offered on competitive terms and conditions; (b) with due regard to occupational health and safety requirements, give preference in employment in Petroleum Operations to nationals of Timor-Leste; and (c) within thirty (30) days of the end of each calendar year, submit to the Ministry a report demonstrating compliance with the above obligations.
Goods, Services, Training and Employment. (a) The Contractor shall comply with the Local Content Proposals. (b) If the Contractor considers on reasonable grounds that the Local Content Proposals need to be varied, it shall submit its reasons to the ANP together with a revised proposal dealing with the training and employment of and the acquisition of goods and services from Timor-Leste nationals (“Revised Local Content Proposal”), according with the principle that it shall give Timor-Leste nationals a real opportunity to deliver goods and services, except in those cases where the Contractor can demonstrate it is not reasonable and economically practicable so to do and include timelines for so meeting set targets. (c) The ANP will notify the Contractor whether it approves the Revised Local Content Proposal within thirty (30) days of receipt. (d) Where the ANP does not approve a Revised Local Content Proposal, the ANP shall notify the Contractor of: (i) the reason for the decision; and (ii) the measures that the Contractor is required to take for the Revised Local Content Proposal to be approved. (e) The Contractor who receives notification pursuant to paragraph 5.5(d) shall amend the Revised Local Content Proposal in accordance with the measures specified by the ANP and resubmit the amended Revised Local Content Proposal for approval. (f) The ANP shall notify the Contractor whether it approves an amended Revised Local Content Proposal pursuant to paragraph 5.5 (e) within thirty (30) days of receipt and the procedure set out in paragraphs 5.5 (d) and (e) shall apply to the amended Revised Local Content Proposal. (g) Without prejudice to the right of Contractor and Operator to select and employ such number of personnel as, in the opinion of the Contractor or Operator, are required for carrying out Petroleum Operations in accordance with Industry Best Practice, in a cost effective and efficient manner and with due regard to occupational health and safety requirements, the Contractor and Operator shall, to the maximum extent possible, employ with preference, and require Sub-Contractors to employ with preference, Timor-Leste nationals having the requisite qualifications and experience. Contractor shall advertise all positions for employment by publication in all the widely circulated newspapers in Timor-Leste and by any other means, including electronic means.   • TRAINING AND EMPLOYEE DEVELOPMENT 9.1 The Employer and the Union recognize the value and benefit of education and training designed to enhance an employee’s ability to perform their job duties. Training and employee development opportunities will be provided to employees in accordance with Employer policies and available resources. 9.2 Attendance at employer-required training will be considered time worked. The Employer will make reasonable attempts to schedule employer-required training during an employee’s regular work shift. The Employer will pay the registration and associated travel costs in accordance with Article 23, Travel, for employer-required training.

  • Employment Services The Company shall employ the Executive, and the Executive agrees to be so employed, in the capacity of the Vice President, Sales of the Company to serve for the Term hereof, subject to earlier termination as hereinafter provided. The Executive shall assume and discharge such duties and responsibilities as are commensurate with the Executive’s position.   • Industrial Relations Training Leave Union Delegate/Employee Representative shall have access to industrial relations training in accordance with Appendix E hereof.

  • Employment and Training Administration The ratio of trainees to journeymen on the job site shall not be greater than permitted under the plan approved by the Employment and Training Administration. Every trainee must be paid at not less than the rate specified in the approved program for the trainee's level of progress, expressed as a percentage of the journeyman hourly rate specified in the applicable wage determination. Trainees shall be paid fringe benefits in accordance with the provisions of the trainee program. If the trainee program does not mention fringe benefits, trainees shall be paid the full amount of fringe benefits listed on the wage determination unless the Administrator of the Wage and Hour Division determines that there is an apprenticeship program associated with the corresponding journeyman wage rate on the wage determination which provides for less than full fringe benefits for apprentices. Any employee listed on the payroll at a trainee rate who is not registered and participating in a training plan approved by the Employment and Training Administration shall be paid not less than the applicable wage rate on the wage determination for the classification of work actually performed. In addition, any trainee performing work on the job site in excess of the ratio permitted under the registered program shall be paid not less than the applicable wage rate on the wage determination for the work actually performed. In the event the Employment and Training Administration withdraws approval of a training program, the contractor will no longer be permitted to utilize trainees at less than the applicable predetermined rate for the work performed until an acceptable program is approved.

  • NON-DISCRIMINATION IN HIRING AND EMPLOYMENT Competitive Supplier agrees to conduct its operations and activities under this ESA in accordance with all applicable state and federal laws regarding non-discrimination in hiring and employment of employees.

  • Verizon OSS Services 8.2.1 Upon request by ECI, Verizon shall provide to ECI Verizon OSS Services. Such Verizon OSS Services will be provided in accordance with, but only to the extent required by, Applicable Law. 8.2.2 Subject to the requirements of Applicable Law, Verizon Operations Support Systems, Verizon Operations Support Systems functions, Verizon OSS Facilities, Verizon OSS Information, and the Verizon OSS Services that will be offered by Verizon, shall be as determined by Verizon. Subject to the requirements of Applicable Law, Verizon shall have the right to change Verizon Operations Support Systems, Verizon Operations Support Systems functions, Verizon OSS Facilities, Verizon OSS Information, and the Verizon OSS Services, from time-to-time, without the consent of ECI. 8.2.3 To the extent required by Applicable Law, in providing Verizon OSS Services to ECI, Verizon will comply with Verizon’s applicable OSS Change Management Guidelines, as such Guidelines are modified from time-to-time, including, but not limited to, the provisions of the Guidelines related to furnishing notice of changes in Verizon OSS Services. Verizon’s OSS Change Management Guidelines will be set out on a Verizon website.

  • Training and Orientation (a) No employee shall be required to work on any job or operate any piece of equipment until he/she has received proper training and instruction. (b) The Employer shall provide sufficient and adequate training and/or orientation to any employee working in a new or unfamiliar work area or position.

  • Services and Compensation Consultant shall perform the services described in Exhibit A (the “Services”) for the Company (or its designee), and the Company agrees to pay Consultant the compensation described in Exhibit A for Consultant’s performance of the Services.
