Holidays for Twelve Hour Shift Staff. 1. All full and part-time staff in active status January 1 of each year will be credited with six (48 hours) float holidays and may use these holidays in accordance with University Policy and this Article. 2. Full and part-time staff that are routinely scheduled to work twelve (12) hour shifts shall be compensated for the nine holidays (72) hours. University designated holidays are as follows: a) For the period July 1 through November 30 of each year of this Agreement, each staff member will be compensated in a lump sum payment in December for all four (4) University designated holidays which fell within this period while the staff member was actively employed. A staff member not in active status on a day designated by the University as a holiday will not receive compensation for such holiday. b) For the period December 1 through June 30 of each year of this Agreement, each staff member will be compensated, in a lump sum payment in July, for all five (5) University designated holidays which fell within this period while the staff member was actively employed. A staff member not in active status on a day designated by the University as a holiday, will not receive compensation for such holiday. c) A non-exempt staff member scheduled to work on a contractually designated holiday will be compensated, at the rate of time and one-half at his/her base rate of pay or at his/her regular rate of all hours worked, depending on the holiday (See 8.02C and 8.02D). d) Upon termination of employment or upon transfer out of the twelve-hour shift, the staff member will be compensated for accrued holiday pay for any University designated holiday which has not been paid less any monies the staff member may owe the University.

  • Paid Holidays – Long Weekends (a) When an employee is scheduled to work a weekend where a paid holiday falls on the Monday or the Friday, the Employer shall endeavour to also schedule the employee to work the paid holiday. (b) When the employee is scheduled off on a weekend where a paid holiday falls on the Monday or the Friday, the Employer shall endeavour to schedule the employee off the paid holiday. (c) In the event of a scheduling conflict, 12.07 (a) will be the deciding provision.

  • Hour Shifts When the Employer deems it necessary to implement a twelve (12) hour work day, affected employees shall be notified pursuant to Clause 14.05. The following Clauses shall be replaced or added to the Collective Agreement where appropriate.

  • Saturdays, Sundays, Holidays, etc If the last or appointed day for the taking of any action or the expiration of any right required or granted herein shall not be a Business Day, then such action may be taken or such right may be exercised on the next succeeding Business Day.

  • Holidays Worked When an employee works on a calendar holiday, he/she shall receive payment of the holiday at the regular rate and in addition, at the discretion of the Employer, (1) be paid at the rate of time and one half for hours actually worked on the holiday or (2) be given compensatory time off equal to one and one half the number of hours actually worked.

  • Hour Shift An eight (8) hour tour shall be inclusive of an unpaid one-half (1/2) hour meal period, and two fifteen (15) minute paid relief periods.

  • Compensation for Holidays Falling Within Vacation Schedule If a paid holiday falls on or is observed during an Employee's vacation period, she shall be allowed an additional vacation day with pay at a time mutually agreed upon by the Employer and the Employee.

  • Saturdays, Sundays, Holidays If the last or appointed day for the taking of any action or the expiration of any right required or granted herein shall be a Saturday or a Sunday or shall be a legal holiday in the State of New York, then such action may be taken or such right may be exercised on the next succeeding day not a legal holiday.

  • Public Holidays falling within Annual Leave (a) If a Public Holiday, as prescribed in this Agreement, falls within an Employee’s annual leave the Public Holiday does not constitute part of the Employee’s annual leave and will be paid as ordinary hours.

  • Religious Holidays When a religious holiday, not observed as a holiday, as provided in Section 2 above, falls on a supervisor's regularly scheduled work day, the supervisor shall be entitled to that day off to observe the religious holiday. Time to observe religious holidays shall be taken without pay except where the supervisor has sufficient accumulated vacation leave or accumulated compensatory time, or, by mutual consent, is able to make the time up. Supervisors shall notify the Appointing Authority at least twenty-eight (28) calendar days prior to the leave.

  • Monday An employee should not work more than 16 hours and must take an 8 hour break before continuing work. Therefore, an employee called in at 7:00 p.m. Sunday could work until 11:00
