Illness Leave Eligibility. Any member who is unable to perform satisfactorily the duties of his position because of personal illness or other disability, may be granted a leave of absence without pay for the remainder of the school year or for a full school year. Such leave of absence may be renewed for an additional school year. Application for Leave Application for such leave shall be made at the member’s discretion. An application for renewal shall be made at least thirty (30) days before the expiration of the leave. The application for such a leave of absence or a renewal thereof shall be accompanied by a statement from the attending physician stating the nature of the illness or disability, unless such statement is waived by the Superintendent.

Illness Leave Eligibility. Any employee who is unable to perform satisfactorily the duties of his/her position because of personal illness, pregnancy or other physical disability, shall be granted a leave of absence without pay for the remainder of the school year or for a full school year. Such leave of absence may be renewed for an additional school year. APPLICATION FOR LEAVE Application for such leave shall be made at the employee’s discretion. The application for such a leave of absence or a renewal thereof shall be accompanied by a statement from the attending physician stating the nature of the illness or disability, and the anticipated duration thereof. An application for renewal shall be made at least sixty (60) calendar days before the expiration of the leave. EARLY TERMINATION OF LEAVE Termination of such leave before its expiration date, provided the request for termination is made in writing by the employee to the employer and that the request is accompanied by a statement from the attending physician, recommending return to duty, shall be at the discretion of the employer and in accordance with the needs and interests of the schools. APPLICATION FOR REINSTATEMENT Application for Reinstatement shall be made at least (60) calendar days before the expiration of such leave. Not less than ten (10) days before the expiration of the leave, the employee shall submit a written statement from the attending physician, certifying that the employee has been medically examined and that he/she is able to resume his/her duties with employer when the leave of absence expires. The employer may require, at employer expense, an examination by a Board-approved physician before the employee is reassigned. If the employee’s leave of absence does not exceed forty-five (45) working days, the employee shall return to the same assignment held at the time said leave commenced.

  • Family Illness Leave An employee will be granted leave of absence for up to five (5) days per year without loss of pay or benefits for family illness. Additional family illness leave may be granted by the employer.

  • Pregnancy Disability Leave A. Leave for pregnancy or childbirth related disability is in addition to any leave granted under FMLA or WFLA.

The length of such disability leave, including the date on which the leave shall commence and the date on which the duties are to be resumed, shall be determined by the unit member and the unit member's physician.
