Illness or Death in the Immediate Family. Unit members may use sick leave for absences due to immediate family which means: unit member’s spouse, children, parents, legal guardian, xxxxxx child, brother, sister, and members of the immediate household for purposes of illness or injury in the immediate family. For purposes of death in the immediate family: grandparents, grandchildren, a spouse’s parents, brothers, or sisters may be included. In addition, upon advance approval of the Superintendent, sick leave may be used for the death of another person who has established a similar relationship to the unit member. At the discretion of the Superintendent, one (1) day of sick leave may be granted to attend the funeral of a close friend.
Illness or Death in the Immediate Family. Each full-time employee shall be entitled to a maximum of one (1) school day per school year with pay, not subtracted from sick leave, for the death of a member of the immediate family as defined in 5.1.
Illness or Death in the Immediate Family. A maximum of five (5) days with pay per year of the fifteen (15) annual sick leave may be used for absence due to illness or death in the immediate family. Immediate family, as used in this section and all other sections of this Agreement, shall mean mother, father, sister, brother, grandparent, grandchild, legal guardian, spouse, children and legal wards of the employee and the same relatives of the employee’s spouse. Exception and/or extension with or without pay shall be at the discretion of the Board, and such action by the Board shall not be subject to the grievance procedures of this Agreement.
Illness or Death in the Immediate Family. The term immediate family shall be interpreted as husband, wife, mother, father, brother, sister, children, grandchildren, father- and mother- in-law, aunt and uncle, brother- and sister-in-law, daughter- and son-in-law, son- and daughter-in-law, and grandparents of member or spouse. This also includes a dependent living in the immediate household. The term household is interpreted as those who dwell under the same roof and comprise a family or a domestic establishment.

  • Death in the Immediate Family An allowance of up to five (5) days leave shall be granted. Immediate family shall be considered as father, mother, spouse, child, brother, sister, mother-in-law, father-in-law, and grandparents, or any member of the immediate household.

  • Illness in the Immediate Family 10.1 A unit member may be granted up to four days’ absence per fiscal year with full pay because of serious illness in the immediate family of the unit member requiring the actual presence of that unit member.

  • Death in Immediate Family A regularly scheduled employee may be granted up to five days of leave of absence with pay by the Agency/Department Head because of death in the immediate family. An employee shall be allowed to take such leave within a four week period. For purposes of this subsection, "immediate family" means mother, stepmother, father, stepfather, husband, wife, domestic partner (upon submission of an affidavit as defined in the appendices), son, stepson, daughter, stepdaughter, brother, sister, grandparent, grandchild, xxxxxx parent, xxxxxx child, mother-in-law, and father-in-law, or any other person sharing the relationship of in loco parentis; and, when living in the household of the employee, a brother-in-law, sister-in-law. Entitlement to leave of absence under this subsection shall be only for all hours the employee would have been scheduled to work for those days granted, and shall be in addition to any other entitlement for sick leave, emergency leave, or any other leave.

  • Death in the Family The Administrator shall be entitled to a maximum of three (3) days at any one time in the event of an administrator’s son-in-law, daughter-in-law, father-in- law, mother-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, aunts, uncles, or grandparents death, and up to five (5) consecutive days leave in the event of the death of an administrator’s spouse, child, brother, sister, or parent.

  • Death in Family At the request of the employee, the Employer may grant a leave of absence for other purposes. The terms and conditions of all leaves of absence shall be set forth in writing. The Employer shall grant an automatic leave of absence, if so desired, not to exceed two (2) weeks, in cases of critical illness or injury or death in the employee's immediate family. Any period in excess of two (2) weeks shall require the written consent of the Employer. When possible, the employee shall request such leaves of absence; but in any event, the Employer shall be notified within twenty-four (24) hours.

  • Immediate Family Immediate family includes husband, wife, child, stepchild, brother, brother-in-law, stepbrother, sister, sister-in-law, stepsister, grandmother, grandfather, grandchild, parent, stepparent, mother-in-law, father-in-law, or any person serving as a parent, or who has served as a parent, or any other close person living in the same household as the employee.

  • Immediate family or household (1) The entitlement to use carer’s leave and compassionate leave in accordance with this clause is subject to the person being either: (a) a member of the employee’s immediate family; or (b) a member of the employee’s household.

  • Illness in the Family Where no one at home other than the employee can provide for the needs during illness of an immediate member of her family, an employee shall be entitled after notifying her supervisor, to use a maximum of five (5) accumulated sick leave days per illness to care for the member of the family who is ill.

  • Illness in Family A leave of absence without pay consistent with the Family Leave Act of up to one (1) year shall be granted for the purpose of caring for a sick member of the employee’s immediate family. Additional leave may be granted at the discretion of the Board.

  • Death The Executive’s employment hereunder shall terminate upon his death.
