Job Sharing Teachers. 16.1 Neither the school nor District is under obligation to hire a teacher on less than a full-time basis. However, shared-time teaching positions may be considered and approved by the Superintendent if certain conditions are met. Such conditions include, but are not limited to: A. Continuity of programs to students is not negatively affected; B. Budget limitations are not adversely affected; C. Administrative/supervisory impact is minimal; and D. Job sharing participants are licensed and qualified for the position.
Job Sharing Teachers interested in job sharing shall submit a letter of interest and a proposed plan per the Job Sharing Procedures to the Superintendent or designee. A copy of the letter of interest and plan shall be forwarded to the building principal no later than May 30th of the year prior to the requested Job Share assignment. Teachers will be notified of approval/disapproval by June 30th. Those teachers approved will receive and sign the Job Sharing Guideline document. All guidelines shall be enforced and non-grieveable. All benefits will be at the level of 50%. Furthermore, the Union recognizes that job sharing assignments will be awarded at the sole discretion of the Superintendent and/or designee. Job Sharing Procedures may be obtained from the Office of the Superintendent.
Job Sharing Teachers. 10.1 In the event two teachers currently employed by the Board, with at least one being a full time teacher, wish to share one full time teaching position, the following shall apply: a. The full time equivalent of the teachers sharing a full time position shall not exceed one full time equivalent assignment based on assigned minutes consistent with other full time assignments in the school in which they teach. b. Article 9 does not apply to any teachers who are job sharing. c. A proposal signed by both teachers shall be provided to the principal, no later than May 1 of the school year immediately preceding the year in which the job sharing is to take place. d. For each job sharing teacher, the Board shall pay full AHC and ASEBP premiums but all other benefits will be prorated, based on the percentage of assigned time for each of the teachers which, in any event, cumulatively cannot exceed 100%. e. The teacher, when returning to his/her initial status, shall be returned to a mutually agreed on position or returned to the position held prior to the job sharing assignment. Should the previous position no longer exist, or failing mutual agreement as to placement, the teacher shall be placed in a position that is commensurate with the teacher’s experience and training. 10.2 Teachers participating in job sharing shall be paid a portion of their grid salary proportionate to the percentage of the full time position assigned to each teacher. 10.3 Approval of a job sharing assignment is subject to the needs of the school and the approval of the Superintendent.

  • JOB SHARING North Bay; Perth-Huron; Peterborough, Victoria & Haliburton; Sarnia- Lambton Taking into consideration the fact that the Employer wishes to retain well- qualified staff who are unable or prefer not to provide a full-time commitment and the job-sharing can enable this to happen, the parties agree to the following provisions: (a) Job-sharing requests with regard to full-time positions shall be considered on an individual basis, and the Employer shall reserve the right to determine the appropriateness of such arrangements, including the number of job-shared positions after discussions with the Union at the Labour Management Committee. (b) Any incumbent full-time Nurse wishing to share their position may do so without having their half (½) of the position posted. The other half (½) of the job-sharing position will be posted, and selection will be in accordance with the Collective Agreement. (c) Save and except as provided for herein, all job-sharers shall be treated as part-time employees and shall receive percentage in lieu of benefits. (d) If one (1) of the job-sharers leaves the arrangement, their position will be posted. If there is no successful applicant to the position, the shared position must revert to a full-time position. The remaining Nurse will have the option of continuing the full-time position or reverting to a part-time position for which they are qualified. If they do not continue full-time, the position must be posted in accordance with the Collective Agreement. (e) Posted schedules for the job-sharers shall be based on the schedules that would apply to a full-time Nurse holding that position. Such schedule shall conform to the scheduling provisions for full- time. (f) Total hours worked by the two job-sharers shall be equal to one full- time position. The division of these hours over the schedule shall be determined by mutual agreement between the two Nurses and the immediate Supervisor. This does not exclude the Nurses from opportunities for extra available work. (g) Each job-sharer may exchange shifts with their partner, as well as with other Nurses in accordance with the Collective Agreement, provided such exchange creates no additional labour cost to the Employer and meets continuity requirements. (h) It is expected that both job-sharers will cover each other’s absences including incidental illnesses and vacation. If, because of unavoidable circumstances, one cannot cover the other, the Supervisor must be notified to book coverage. Job-sharers are not required to cover for their partners in the case or prolonged or extended absences but may be offered the opportunity to do so. (i) Job-sharers will not be required to work in total more paid holidays than would one full-time Nurse, unless mutually agreed otherwise. Job-sharers will have the right to determine which partner works the scheduled holidays. (j) Either party may discontinue the arrangement with one month’s written notice and the employees shall revert to their former status without posting if such positions are still available. 14.14 Christmas/New Year’s Xxxxxxxxxxxx, Xxxxxxxx & Haliburton

  • Job Sharing / Time Sharing (a) Job sharing shall be interpreted to mean two employees sharing one full- time position (10 shifts bi-weekly). (b) Time sharing shall be interpreted to mean two employees sharing one full line (14 shifts bi-weekly). Clarifying Note: One full-time and a regular part-time “shadow” does not constitute a time sharing arrangement. (c) The introduction of job/time sharing arrangements in a Home will be subject to mutual agreement between the Union and the Employer. Job/time sharing requests shall be considered on an individual basis. Such approval will not be unreasonably withheld. (d) The employees involved in job share/ time sharing are entitled to all the regular part-time provisions except those which are modified as follows: i) Schedules and scheduling language shall be established by the mutual agreement of the Union and the Home. This will include the division of hours between the job/time sharers. ii) Each job/time sharer may exchange shifts with her or his partner as well as other employees as provided by the Collective Agreement. Employees who are currently in a job/time sharing arrangement and are full-time will retain that status and be covered by the full-time provisions of the collective agreement. For clarity, this grandparents employees in time sharing arrangements, not positions. When individuals leave these positions, the vacant position will be posted under (f) and (g) below.

  • Traveling Teachers Traveling teachers are those who are not assigned a dedicated classroom of their own due to limited space. If traveling is necessary within a subject area, traveling status should be rotated. In order to facilitate optimum conditions for instruction, traveling teachers should, to the greatest extent practicable, be provided the following: 1. A quiet, secure space that contains a desk and filing space; 2. Storage space within the classrooms used for instruction; 3. A designated bulletin board and/or chalk or white board in the classrooms used for instruction; 4. An appropriate cart to transfer materials; 5. Supplies needed for instruction to the same extent as other teachers and those unique to traveling teachers.

  • Shift Employees Employees who work rotating shift patterns or those who work qualifying shifts shall be entitled, on completion of 12 months employment on shift work, to up to an additional 5 days annual leave, based on the number of qualifying shifts worked. The entitlement will be calculated on the annual leave anniversary date. Qualifying shifts are defined as a shift which involves at least 2 hours work performed outside the hours of 8.00am to 5.00pm, excluding overtime.   • Leave Sharing Consistent with RCW 28A.400.380 and WAC 392-126, a leave sharing program is established as follows: A. A district employee is eligible to receive donated leave if: 1. The staff member suffers from, or has a relative or household member suffering from, an extraordinary or severe illness, injury, impairment, or physical or mental condition which as caused, or is likely to cause, the staff member to: a. Go on leave without pay status; or b. Terminate his/her employment; 2. The staff member’s absence and the use of shared leave are justified; 3. The staff member has depleted, or will shortly deplete, his/her annual leave and sick leave reserves; 4. The staff member has abided by district rules regarding sick leave use; and 5. The staff member has diligently pursued and been found to be ineligible to receive industrial insurance benefits. Any employee who wishes to receive leave under this provision shall submit a request in writing to the personnel office. The employee shall submit, prior to leave sharing approval, documentation from a licensed physician or other authorized health care practitioner verifying the severe or extraordinary nature and expected duration of the condition. Employees meeting the criteria indicated above shall be eligible for leave sharing. A staff member shall not receive more leave than the number of normal work days remaining in the current school year. In the event that the condition requiring the employee’s absence continues beyond the current school year, the employee shall not receive a total of more than 261 days of leave. B. District employees may donate leave as follows: 1. An employee who does not earn annual leave (vacation) and who has an accrued sick leave balance of more than sixty (60) days may request that the superintendent or designee transfer a specified amount of sick leave to another staff member authorized to receive such leave. A staff member may request to transfer no more than six (6) days of sick leave during any twelve (12) month period, and may not request a transfer that would result in an accrued sick leave balance of fewer than sixty (60) days. Employees who accrue vacation must transfer vacation days prior to sick leave days. Sick leave as defined in RCW 28A.58.099 (28A.400.300) means leaves for illness, injury, and emergencies. The number of leave days transferred shall not exceed the amount authorized by the donating staff member. 2. The value of any leave transferred under this policy which remains unused shall be returned to its original value to the staff member who donated the leave. To the extent administratively feasible, the value of unused leave which was transferred by more than one staff member shall be returned on a pro-rata value basis.

  • Pre-Retirement Leave An Employee scheduled to retire and to receive a superannuation allowance under the applicable pension Acts or who has reached the mandatory retiring age, shall be entitled to: (a) A special paid leave for a period equivalent to fifty percent (50%) of his/her accumulated sick leave credit, to be taken immediately prior to retirement; or (b) A special cash payment of an amount equivalent to the cash value of fifty percent (50%) of his/her accumulated sick leave credit, to be paid immediately prior to retirement and based upon his/her current rate of pay.

  • EMPLOYER AND UNION SHALL ACQUAINT NEW EMPLOYEES The Employer agrees to acquaint new employees with the fact that a Collective Agreement is in effect and with the conditions of employment set out in the Articles dealing with Union Security and Dues Check-off. The Employer agrees to provide the name, worksite phone number, and location of the new employee's xxxxxxx in the letter of hiring. Whenever the xxxxxxx is employed in the same work area as the new employee, the employee's immediate supervisor will introduce her to her xxxxxxx. The Employer agrees that a Union xxxxxxx will be given an opportunity to interview each new employee within regular working hours, without loss of pay, for thirty (30) minutes sometime during the first thirty (30) days of employment for the purpose of acquainting the new employee with the benefits and duties of Union membership and the employee's responsibilities and obligations to the Employer and the Union.

  • Consulting Teachers 14.3.1 A Consulting Teacher provides assistance to a Participating Teacher pursuant to the PAR program. The qualifications for the Consulting Teacher shall be set forth in the Rules and Procedures, with the minimum qualifications: (a) Must be a permanent, credentialed, bargaining unit member. (b) Must have successfully taught in the Murrieta Valley Unified School District or three of the last five years, spending at least fifty percent of a full-time position providing instruction to students. (c) With Association Representative Council approval, the minimum number of years in Article 13.3.1.b may be changed from three to two. Request must be in writing. (x) Xxxxx demonstrate exemplary teaching abilities, as indicated by effective communication skills, extensive knowledge and mastery of subject matter, and mastery of a range of teaching strategies necessary to meet the needs of pupils in different contexts. 14.3.2 Each applicant for the position of Consulting Teacher shall be required to submit a) From a site principal or other school district administrator and, b) From an Association member. 14.3.3 Consulting Teachers shall be selected and submitted for approval to the Governing Board by five (5) affirmative votes of the Joint Committee following classroom observations by the committee members. 14.3.4 A Consulting Teacher shall be provided necessary release time as approved by the Joint Committee. 14.3.5 A Consulting Teacher who has been selected to fill an administrative position within the District may not continue to serve as a Consulting Teacher. 14.3.6 The Joint Committee will monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the Consulting Teachers and make decisions regarding their continuation in the program. The Joint Committee may remove a Consulting Teacher from the position at any time because of the specific needs of the PAR Program, unsatisfactory performance of the Consulting Teacher, or for other reasons which serve the PAR Program's best interest. Prior to the effective date of such removal, the Joint Committee will meet with the Consulting Teacher. 14.3.7 Consulting Teachers shall assist Participating Teachers by demonstrating, observing, coaching, conferencing, in-servicing, referring, or by any other activities which, in their professional judgement, will assist the Participating Teacher. 14.3.8 The Consulting Teacher shall meet with the Referred Participating Teacher to discuss the PAR program, establish mutually agreed upon performance goals, develop the improvement plan, and develop a process for determining successful completion of the plan. The Consulting Teacher shall conduct multiple observations of the Referred Participating Teacher's performance with students, and shall meet with the Participating Teacher to review and discuss observations. 14.3.9 The Referred Participating Teacher shall be entitled to review all reports generated by the Consulting Teacher prior to their submission to the Joint Committee and to have affixed thereto his/her comments. To effectuate this right, the Consulting Teacher shall provide the Participating Teacher being reviewed with copies of such reports at least ten (10) working days prior to any such meeting. 14.3.10 The Consulting Teacher shall monitor the progress of the Referred Participating Teacher and provide periodic written reports to the Referred Participating Teacher for discussion and review, prior to sending periodic written reports to the Joint Committee. 14.3.11 The Consulting Teacher shall provide assistance, not to exceed one school year, to the Referred Teacher until he/she concludes that the teaching performance of the Referred Teacher is satisfactory, or that further assistance will not be productive. The Joint Committee may offer assistance beyond the one-year period. A copy of the Consulting Teacher's Final Report shall be submitted to and discussed with the Referred Participating Teacher to receive his/her input before it is submitted to the Joint Committee. The Referred Participating Teacher shall sign the report to indicate that he/she received a copy. The Referred Participating Teacher shall have the right to submit a written response that shall be attached to the Consulting Teacher's report, within ten (10) working days. The Referred Participating Teacher shall also have the right to request and meet with the Joint Committee to discuss the Consulting Teacher's report accompanied by an Association representative. 14.3.12 The results of the Referred Participating Teacher's participation in the PAR program shall be made available for placement in his/her personnel file, and may be used in the evaluation of the Referred Participating Teacher. 14.3.13 Upon the completion of the contracted term of service as a Consulting Teacher, if the Consulting Teacher were released from regular classroom duties, he/she shall be returned 14.3.14 The District shall defend and hold harmless individual members of the Joint Committee and Consulting Teachers from any lawsuit or claim arising out of the performance of their duties under this Program. The Association retains the right to participate in the litigation. 14.3.15 Consulting Teachers, Support Providers, and teacher members of the Joint Committee shall not be considered management or supervisory employees as defined in the Educational Employment Relations Act, and shall retain their status as bargaining unit members.
