Job Sharing Teachers. Job Sharing shall be when a teaching assignment is shared by more than one part-time teacher.
Job Sharing Teachers. 16.1 Neither the school nor District is under obligation to hire a teacher on less than a full-time basis. However, shared-time teaching positions may be considered and approved by the Superintendent if certain conditions are met. Such conditions include, but are not limited to: A. Continuity of programs to students is not negatively affected; B. Budget limitations are not adversely affected; C. Administrative/supervisory impact is minimal; and D. Job sharing participants are licensed and qualified for the position.
Job Sharing Teachers interested in job sharing shall submit a letter of interest and a proposed plan per the Job Sharing Procedures to the Superintendent or designee. A copy of the letter of interest and plan shall be forwarded to the building principal no later than May 30th of the year prior to the requested Job Share assignment. Teachers will be notified of approval/disapproval by June 30th. Those teachers approved will receive and sign the Job Sharing Guideline document. All guidelines shall be enforced and non-grieveable. All benefits will be at the level of 50%. Furthermore, the Union recognizes that job sharing assignments will be awarded at the sole discretion of the Superintendent and/or designee. Job Sharing Procedures may be obtained from the Office of the Superintendent.
Job Sharing Teachers. 10.1 In the event two teachers currently employed by the Board, with at least one being a full time teacher, wish to share one full time teaching position, the following shall apply: a. The full time equivalent of the teachers sharing a full time position shall not exceed one full time equivalent assignment based on assigned minutes consistent with other full time assignments in the school in which they teach. b. Article 9 does not apply to any teachers who are job sharing. c. A proposal signed by both teachers shall be provided to the principal, no later than May 1 of the school year immediately preceding the year in which the job sharing is to take place. d. For each job sharing teacher, the Board shall pay full AHC and ASEBP premiums but all other benefits will be prorated, based on the percentage of assigned time for each of the teachers which, in any event, cumulatively cannot exceed 100%. e. The teacher, when returning to his/her initial status, shall be returned to a mutually agreed on position or returned to the position held prior to the job sharing assignment. Should the previous position no longer exist, or failing mutual agreement as to placement, the teacher shall be placed in a position that is commensurate with the teacher’s experience and training. 10.2 Teachers participating in job sharing shall be paid a portion of their grid salary proportionate to the percentage of the full time position assigned to each teacher. 10.3 Approval of a job sharing assignment is subject to the needs of the school and the approval of the Superintendent.
