JOINT APPRENTICESHIP AND TRAINING COMMITTEE. In order to maintain and ensure an adequate number of qualified Tile Layers and Tile Finishers for employment in the industry, the parties agree to maintain a Joint Apprenticeship Training Committee (JATC) consisting of four (4) members appointed by the Association and four (4) members appointed by the Union. The Committee shall conform to and comply with the Apprentice Labor Standards of the State of California and shall maintain training programs for Tile Layer and Tile Finisher apprentices and other persons employed or employable under this Agreement.

JOINT APPRENTICESHIP AND TRAINING COMMITTEE. (a) Employers agree to be bound by the rules and regulations promulgated by the Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee. (b) Any Employer notified by the Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee that an Apprentice or Service Apprentice has been dropped from the apprenticeship program must terminate employment of said Apprentice or Service Apprentice. The Apprentice or Service Apprentice may appeal the decision to drop him from the apprenticeship program to the Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee as per its policies and procedures.

The parties hereto acknowledge that on October 14, 1981, Apprenticeship Standards of the Northern California Heat and Frost Insulators and Allied Workers Joint Apprenticeship Committee together with addenda thereto were agreed upon and subsequently approved by the Department of Industrial Relations, Division of Apprenticeship Standard on November 24, 1981. Said Apprenticeship Standards and any addendum’s thereto or revisions thereof are hereby incorporated herein and made a part of this Agreement.

Notwithstanding any other provision in this Agreement, any dispute regarding the application of the rules and regulations of the Apprenticeship Standards shall be resolved solely by the JATC in accordance with the rules contained in said Standards and shall not be subject to the provisions of Article XIV.
JOINT APPRENTICESHIP AND TRAINING COMMITTEE. 1. In the territorial jurisdiction of the Union there is established one (1) Joint Apprenticeship Training Committee which shall consist of an equal number of members appointed respectively by the Floor Covering Association of the Central Coast Counties and the Union. The Committee shall oversee the apprenticeship system under the control of the Trustees of the District Council 16 Northern California Journeyman & Apprentice Training Trust Fund. 2. The duties of the Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee may include, but are not limited to: (a) Selection of applicants as provided for in selection procedures registered and approved by the State of California; (b) Supervise the training of Apprentices under a program as defined by the Trustees and Trust Document. (c) Supervise the training and upgrading of Journeymen. More specifically, the Committee shall develop and provide Journeyman upgrade and training programs that increase the knowledge, skills and job opportunities for Journeymen. (d) Supervise the testing of Apprentices and Journeymen. (e) To establish rules, regulations, and training standards for the Apprentice. (f) To implement disciplinary action within the rules and regulations. 3. Apprentices may be employed only in accordance with standards as set forth by the Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee. 4. No Apprentice shall be hired by any Employer until both the shop and the Apprentice have been approved by the Joint Apprenticeship Committee.

The duties of the Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee may include, but are not limited to: (a) Selection of applicants as provided for in selection procedures registered and approved by the State of California; (b) Supervise the training of Apprentices under a program as defined by the Trustees and Trust Document. (c) Supervise the training and upgrading of Journeymen. More specifically, the Committee shall develop and provide Journeyman upgrade and training programs that increase the knowledge, skills and job opportunities for the Journeymen. (d) The JATC shall develop a database of all active members skill classifications. This will be accomplished by conducting a survey of the Employers and active membership, on an ongoing basis, to ascertain the members skill classification within the various applications of our craft. (e) Supervise the testing of Apprentices and Journeymen. (f) To establish rules, regulations, and training standards for the apprentice. (g) To implement disciplinary action within the rules and regulations. (h) The JATC will determine through discussions with the appropriate governing agencies the length and breadths of training required for floor covering installers and also determine the costs of funding such a training program for Journeymen and installers. 3. Apprentices may be employed only in accordance with standards as set forth by the Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee. 4. No Apprentice shall be hired by any Employer until both the shop and the Apprentice have been approved by the Joint Apprenticeship Committee. 5. The contribution rate shall be set forth in Schedule A and shall be paid on all hours worked.
JOINT APPRENTICESHIP AND TRAINING COMMITTEE. 19.1 There shall be a Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee consisting of four members representing the Union and four members representing the University. Subject to the applicable provisions of the basic agreement, the Committee shall establish standards governing the qualifications, training, and upgrading of apprentices and shall evaluate matters concerning those who are enrolled in the pre- apprenticeship training program. 19.2 Members of the Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee shall be selected by the party they represent. The Committee shall meet when called by either party. 19.3 In the event the Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee is unable to resolve a dispute, the dispute shall be referred to the Union and the University for settlement. Any change in the basic agreement must be made by the Union and the University.

JOINT APPRENTICESHIP AND TRAINING COMMITTEE. An addition to the administration of the Apprenticeship Program, the Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee as defined in Appendix 3, Article1, F and Article 12, will administer and coordinate training within the electric shop which is specific to the improved performance of plant electricians.
JOINT APPRENTICESHIP AND TRAINING COMMITTEE. The parties agree to continue to maintain a Construction Craft Laborer Apprenticeship Program. The Joint Training and Apprenticeship Committee established or to be established by the parties in accordance with Apprenticeship Standards previously adopted by the parties shall have the authority to set, administer and enforce all rules, regulations, ratios and rates for apprentices and the apprenticeship program.
JOINT APPRENTICESHIP AND TRAINING COMMITTEE. There is hereby established a Joint Apprenticeship Committee as defined in Section 2 (f) above. This Committee shall be composed of equal numbers, half of whom shall represent the Company and half of whom shall represent the Union. The Committee shall elect a Chairman and a Secretary and vice versa. The Committee shall meet at least once every two (2) months or on call of the Chairman or Secretary or any two members of the Joint Committee. It shall be the duty of the Committee:
