L eave Without Pay. 1. The Board, upon recommendation of the Superintendent, may grant a leave of absence without pay to any tenured Teacher for a period of up to one (1) school year for good and sufficient reason. Application for such leave shall be made to the Superintendent on or before November 15 of the school year preceding the school year for which the leave is being sought. Exceptions, in the case of applications made after November 15 of said school year, may be made at the discretion of the Superintendent in cases of emergency.

Approval will set a date for the employee’s return to work. Modification of the return date must also be approved in writing by the Employer.
