L eave Without Pay. 1. The Board, upon recommendation of the Superintendent, may grant a leave of absence without pay to any tenured Teacher for a period of up to one (1) school year for good and sufficient reason. Application for such leave shall be made to the Superintendent on or before November 15 of the school year preceding the school year for which the leave is being sought. Exceptions, in the case of applications made after November 15 of said school year, may be made at the discretion of the Superintendent in cases of emergency.
L eave Without Pay. Employees on a leave without pay for twelve (12) months or less shall not accrue nor lose seniority during the leave of absence.

The Employer shall not unreasonably withhold consent with respect to any such request or request for an extension of such leave, however it is agreed that operating requirements is a factor which will be considered under this provision. The Employer will normally respond to an employee’s written request within 10 days absent unforeseen circumstances. More time may be required in some instances, in which case the employee will be kept apprised of the status of the request including the anticipated timetable within which the request will be dealt with.
L eave Without Pay. Any employee who has permanent status may be granted a leave of absence without pay upon written request, approved by the appointing authority; provided, however, that leaves for pregnancy, pregnancy disability, serious health conditions and family care shall be granted in accordance with applicable state and federal law.
L eave Without Pay. In addition to the circumstances specified elsewhere in this Agreement, the Employer, in its discretion may approve a leave without pay for the following reasons specified below. Leaves without pay must be approved or denied by the Employer in writing within fourteen (14) calendar days of the request when practicable and if denied will include the reason for denial. Approval will set a date for the employee’s return to work. Modification of the return date must also be approved in writing by the Employer.

An employee shall be allowed leave without pay upon request and with the recommendation of that employee's building administrator or department supervisor and the approval of the director of Human Resources for a duration of not more than twelve (12) months. An employee on leave without pay shall, at the end of such leave, be returned to that employee's position in the District prior to the leave. Adjustments in compensation that went into effect during the time the employee was on leave without pay shall be applied to the employee's compensation upon returning from the leave. If leave without pay is requested for less than a full work year and paid leave benefits are available, leave without pay may not be used. Paid personal leave and vacation leave benefits must be exhausted before leave without pay may be approved.
L eave Without Pay a) Upon completion of three (3) years of employment in a teaching position with the Division, a teacher shall be eligible for a leave of absence without pay of up to two
