Language Allowance. 37.1 A Health Worker will be paid a language allowance where they are required as part of their duties to use one or more Aboriginal or Xxxxxx Xxxxxx Islander languages in addition to English to perform those duties.
37.2 The Health Service may consult with the Co-ordinator, Aboriginal Health Work at the Office of Aboriginal Health when considering whether a Health Worker qualifies for the allowance.
37.3 Where the Health Service still remains uncertain, it may require the Health Worker to undergo an assessment by the local Aboriginal Language Centre to establish their proficiency in the required language/languages. Where such an assessment is required, this will be undertaken at a time mutually convenient to both Health Worker and Employer. The Health Service will bear the cost of the assessment.
37.4 The language allowance will be a weekly amount as follows, provided that part time Health Workers will be entitled to the allowance on a pro rata basis: On and from 7 October 2016 On and from 7 October 2017
37.5 The language allowance is not payable during any period of paid or unpaid leave.
Language Allowance. (a) Where the Employee, in addition to his or her normal duties, agrees to be appointed by the Employer to use their skills in a second language to assist members of the public who have low English proficiency:
(i) the Employee must hold a current accreditation from the National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters (NAATI); and
(ii) the Employee will be paid an annual allowance payable in fortnightly instalments as follows: Date of Effect Language aide accreditation Paraprofessional interpreter accreditation Interpreter accreditation or higher
(b) The Employer will pay the cost of the NAATI pre-testing workshop.
(c) The Employer will also meet the cost of the NAATI test, up to two times per Employee per level of accreditation. The Employee must apply annually for renewal of the allowance. 50
Language Allowance. (a) An employee who has a basic level of competence in a community language and who works in locations where their community language is utilised at work to assist clients and such employees are not employed, will be paid an allowance as specified in Item 1 Schedule 3, subject to this clause. This includes:
(i) as interpreters and translators; and
(ii) positions where particular language skills are an integral part of essential requirements of the position,
(b) The base level of the Community Language Assistance Scheme (CLAS) is paid to staff members who:
(i) are required to meet occasional demands for language assistance (there is no regular pattern of demand for their skill); and
(ii) have passed an examination administered by the Community Relations Commission, or who have a National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters (NAATI) language recognition award.
(c) The higher level of CLAS is paid to employees who meet the requirements for the base level of payment and:
(i) are regularly required to meet high levels of customer demand involving a regular pattern of usage of the staff member’s language skills, as determined by WaterNSW; and
(ii) have achieved qualifications of NAATI interpreter level or above. This recognises that staff with higher levels of language skill will communicate with an enhanced degree of efficiency and effectiveness.
Language Allowance. 2.8.1 Payment of language allowance at the rate of $569 per annum for school support staff whose duties require translation and interpretation skills and who meet the requirements of Language Aide of the National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters or other equivalent qualifications as determined from time to time by the Chief Executive Officer on the recommendation of the ACC.

30.4.3 The Employer will also meet the cost of the NAATI test, up to two times per individual per level of accreditation.
30.4.4 The Employee must apply annually for renewal of the allowance. The Employer will assess the Employee's application to determine whether the Employer still requires the Employee to perform interpreting duties.
Language Allowance. Teachers who demonstrate proficiency in and who use in activities related to their teaching, one or more of the aboriginal languages of the Northwest Territories and appointed by the Superintendent receive an annual allowance as follows: $ 5,213 effective September 1, 2008, $ 5,435 effective September 1, 2009, $ 5,666 effective September 1, 2010, and $ 5,949 effective September 1, 2011.

Employees who are required to be fluent in another language and who can demonstrate proficiency as required by the Employer will receive an annual "Language Allowance" of two thousand, two hundred ($2200) dollars.

The Health Service will bear the cost of the assessment.
38.4 The language allowance will be a weekly amount as follows, provided that part time Health Workers or Aboriginal Health Practitioners will be entitled to the allowance on a pro rata basis: On and from 7 October 2022 On and from 7 October 2023
