Laptop Care. The student is responsible for care of the laptop. The student shall at all times take reasonable care of the laptop and not expose it to undue risk of damage or theft. The laptop is not insured by the College for loss or theft. Loss or theft of the laptop is to be reported to the student’s pastoral teacher and the college ICT Support Centre immediately. The cost of replacement will be charged to the parents/carers. The replacement laptop will only be issued to the student after the charge is paid in full. Students shall not deface the laptop which will include marking, stickers or scratching of the laptop unit (Adhesive stickers are considered defacing under the agreement)

Computer batteries must be charged and ready for school each day. c. No labels or stickers may be applied to the computer. d. Computer sleeves furnished by the Groton Area School District must be returned with only normal wear and no alterations to avoid paying a sleeve replacement fee. e. Computers that malfunction or are damaged must be reported to Xx. Xxxxxx. Students will be responsible for the full cost of repairs to laptops necessitated by the negligent or intentional behavior of the student.

Laptop Care. The student is responsible for taking care of and securing the laptop and accessories in accordance with school policy and guidelines. Data Security‌ Students must understand the importance of backing up data securely. Should the laptop develop a fault, class and assignment work that has taken a considerable time to prepare may be lost. The student is responsible for the backup of all data. While at school, students are able to save data to the school’s network which is safeguarded by a scheduled backup solution. They are also able to save data locally to the laptop for use away from the school network. The backup of this data is the responsibility of the student and should be done on an external device, such as an external hard drive or USB drive. Students should also be aware that, in the event that any repairs need to be carried out, the data stored on the laptop may be deleted and the storage media reformatted.

If you are unsure, ask a teacher or parent. • Plagiarism is viewed as a form of cheating and is a violation of the Classical Preparatory Student Handbook. Give credit to all sources used, whether quoted or summarized. This includes all forms of media on the Internet, such as graphics, movies, music, and text. • Use or possession or hacking software is strictly prohibited and violators will be subject to disciplinary action. Violation of applicable state or federal law will result in criminal prosecution and/or disciplinary action by the School.

It is the student’s responsibility to attend PM Homegroup each day and to place their device onto charge. Students will not be able to source additional charging for their device during the day. Students are not permitted to change the appearance of a laptop that has been supplied to them under any circumstances. This includes graffiti, stickers or other images being attached to the outside of the device. As the device remains the property of BHS, it is important to understand that the device is subject to routine and thorough inspection by staff, at any time, in addition to annual routine servicing and maintenance. At the completion of the school year each student will return their laptop to the school library for safe storage, where it will also be checked thoroughly and assessed for wear and tear. The same laptop will be re-issued to the student at the beginning of the next school year. Students need to be aware that the laptop might be in their bag, or a separate case, during break times. As a result, students will need to exercise care in the yard, not drop their bags, and place them gently out of the way. To reduce the risk of damage, it is strongly advised that students utilise the lockers provided to store their laptops during break times. All students need to be aware that any deliberate or reckless action during lessons or break times that leads to the damage of another student’s laptop will incur consequences, and the student responsible for the damage will be responsible for the costs of repair.
Laptop Care. Laptops will be issued each Fall. Prior to the start of school, there will be an orientation for students. Parents and students must sign and return the Student User Agreement for the Seattle Hebrew Academy document before the laptop will be issued to the student.
