Legislative Leave. To the extent authorized by 21 VSA 496, and subject to any conflict of interest or legal barrier as may be determined by the Attorney General, the Hatch Act or any other applicable federal law, state employees shall be entitled to leave of absence in order to serve in the General Assembly. Leave under this situation must be specifically approved in advance by the appointing authority and Commissioner of Human Resources.
Legislative Leave. 17.9.1 A unit member who is elected to the State Legislature, the United States Congress, or a state or national teacher organization office shall be entitled to an unpaid leave of absence for the length of his/her term of office. The unit member on such leave shall notify the Board of his/her intended return at least eight (8) weeks in advance of such date.
17.9.2 The provisions of this Agreement governing long-term, uncompensated leaves shall apply to this Section.
Legislative Leave. A Unit Member who is elected to the State Legislature or the United States Congress shall be granted an unpaid leave of absence.
Legislative Leave. Except as otherwise provided by law, a tenured faculty member who is elected or appointed to the State Legislature, Congress, or appointed to government service, shall be entitled to an unpaid leave of absence for the length of the term of office, not to exceed eight (8) years.
A. The faculty member on such leave shall notify the college of an intended return at least sixteen (16) weeks in advance.
B. The faculty member on such leave shall be entitled to return to employment at the end of the leave, but shall not be entitled to any other benefits while on leave.
Legislative Leave. A teacher who is elected to the State Legislature or Congress shall be entitled to an unpaid leave of absence for the length of the term or terms in office.
1. The teacher on such leave shall notify the Board of the date of the intended return at least twelve (12) weeks in advance.
2. The teacher on such leave shall be entitled to return to employment at the end of the leave, but shall not be entitled to any of the other benefits accorded in this contract.
Legislative Leave. Legislative leave shall be granted pursuant to the Education Code.
Legislative Leave. A regular bargaining unit member elected to the Legislature shall be granted an unpaid leave of absence from the duties as an employee of the District. Within six (6) months after the term of office expires, the employee is entitled to return to the position held at the time of election. The bargaining unit member shall notify the District of the intention to return at least four (4) months in advance.
Legislative Leave. [a] The Board of Education grants release of personnel to participate in the legislature who have been elected to serve either in the Senate or House of Representatives. During such legislative service the employee shall receive his/her regular salary less his/her legislative salary. These arrangements shall be made through the District’s Payroll Department.
Legislative Leave. The Board will permit two (2) teachers (as chosen by the GKBEA) to attend the state legislature for the purpose of lobbying for education for up to three (3) days each.
Legislative Leave. A full-time Unit Member will be granted legislative leave in accordance with the laws of the State of California.
