Long-Term Outcomes. To achieve the overall objective set out above 6 long term outcomes have been identified. These outcomes will support the overall objective of “Argyll and Xxxx’s economic success is built on a growing population” and also address the 6 national policy priorities for community planning. The 6 long term outcomes are set out below. In Argyll and Bute: • The economy is diverse and thriving. • We have infrastructure that supports sustainable growth. • Education, skills and training maximises opportunities for all. • Children and young people have the best possible start. • People live active, healthier and independent lives. • People live in safer and stronger communities. To achieve each of the 6 long term outcomes will require significant commitment and effort by all partners and also from the whole of Argyll and Bute. The approach for each long term outcome will be place based recognising the economic, social and physical issues faced by our communities: • Develop a clear policy and strategy for the outcome. • Identify the actions that are required. • Prepare delivery plans that are clear around resources and risks. • Identify the success measures and milestones. • Allocate responsibility to partners so there is clear line of sight. This approach will be backed up by Plan, Do, Check, Act cycle to ensure progress is monitored, lessons are learned and plans and procedures updated. Performance will be managed quarterly and annually and also over the 10 year period of the SOA. Performance scorecards will be used. On a quarterly basis performance will be monitored to assess whether actions or milestones have been achieved or are on track. Related to the long term outcomes the emphasis will likely be on input measures or that things have been done or are on track. Annually performance will be assessed based on performance measures developed as part of detailed planning. These will measure the impact activities are having and will be more output focussed. Again this will relate to the long term outcomes. The national outcome indicators and other national indicator sets will be used to assess long term progress and also the comparative performance of Argyll and Bute over the 10 year life of the SOA. This will assess the issue of “so what difference is this making?”. The national guidance on community planning set out 6 national policy priorities for community planning. These were: • Economic recovery and growth; • Employment; • Early years; • Safer and stronger comm...

Long-Term Outcomes. We have reduced inequality and disadvantage across East Dunbartonshire Our communities are more engaged in the design and delivery of services The East Dunbartonshire Community Planning Partnership is committed to reducing disadvantage and inequality across the area. Our evidence base tells us that major inequalities still exist across East Dunbartonshire. The CPP’s approach to reducing this disadvantage is two- fold. Firstly, there is the activity that underpins the six three-year outcomes and secondly the targeted interventions we are undertaking in our more deprived communities. As a Partnership we are clear that prevention is at the heart of both of these strands. The locally integrated services that we are starting to deliver in the Hillhead area of East Dunbartonshire are clear evidence of this approach. For example: • Family centre - We are working directly with the local school, nursery and families to better understand local need and priorities. By engaging people in this pro-active way through a variety of services we believe we can prevent greater need and crisis events in the future. This type of work increases self-sufficiency and independence while building trustworthy relationships for those who would benefit from additional support • Community safety - Shared agency information assists in focusing our community safety strategy. Intelligence led targeting helps build positive relationships and prevents the escalation of anti-social behaviour into potentially criminal activity. Early, informed interactions result in a community which feels safer and trusts in its police force and community safety partners to maintain a safe community • Employability - Through closer partner agency working we are reducing the potential ‘gaps’ in education and employment services. This work provides a clear pathway for those who require it preventing people becoming disengaged in the future. In turn increased skills build personal confidence and ultimately community resilience. What is clear from this early work is that local communities are engaged in the design and delivery of services. This ensures that these preventative solutions are tailored to the area within which they are being delivered. This approach ensures that the Partnership is clear about what we mean by reducing disadvantage and engaging our communities and what will be different for our communities in over the next ten years. Furthermore, from the clear evidence based understanding of place, w...
Long-Term Outcomes. Climate-Resilient Communities Project 1 World Bank, Country at Glance, Niger 2015: xxxx://xxx.xxxxxxxxx.xxx/en/country/niger Project Description and Logic The Compact will directly address the underlying causes of two binding constraints to economic growth and investment in Niger: lack of access to water for productive uses, which inhibits agricultural productivity and household food security; and physical access and institutional barriers to trade, which create high transaction costs and lower sales volume. The Program seeks to raise rural incomes by increasing agricultural and livestock production by boosting production through increases in areas under cultivation and improvements in yields. The Program will achieve this through a combination of policy reforms, infrastructure investments, access to finance and services for smallholder producers, facilitation of partnerships and improvements to agricultural and livestock production and market platforms. The Program consists of two Projects: (1) Irrigation and Market Access Project and (2) Climate-Resilient Communities Project (CRC). Each project and its expected results are described below.
