Long Term Vacancies. (i) Advertising the position internally in the first instance within two weeks of the Employer becoming aware that the position is being vacated; and if not filled
(ii) Advertising the position externally within four weeks of the Employer becoming aware that the position is being vacated.
Long Term Vacancies. If an unexpected, long‐term vacancy occurs during the school year, the District will make every effort to fill such vacancy in a manner that is least disruptive to affected school sites. The District will meet and consult with affected staff and the Association prior to filling the vacancy to receive input and suggested alternatives and solutions that best meet the needs of students.
Long Term Vacancies. When a bargaining unit member has been on an unpaid leave of absence for six (6) months or more, including worker’s compensation leave of absence, his/her position will be posted and filled by hiring a new bargaining unit member for that position. The rights of the bargaining unit member on a long term leave of absence for more than six (6) months shall not be affected by this provision.
Long Term Vacancies. 1. After thirty (30) days a vacancy will be considered long-term and will be governed by the provisions of this subsection.
2. Temporary (long-term) out-of-grade assignments in permanent lieutenant vacancies, where no Civil Service promotional list has been issued, shall be assigned to the senior qualified firefighter desiring such an assignment. Seniority shall be based on permanent full-time employment with the fire department. IF there is a valid lieutenant's Civil Service promotional list, then such long-term assignments shall be made in the order such person appears on the Civil Service list, providing that the person eligible on the Civil Service list desires such position.
3. Temporary long-term out-of-grade assignments and permanent deputy vacancies, where no Civil Service promotional list is in effect, shall be assigned to the senior qualified lieutenant desiring such assignment. Seniority shall be based on the individual's length of service as a permanent lieutenant within the fire department. Where a valid Civil Service list is in existence, such assignments shall be made based upon the order in which such individuals appear on the Civil Service Eligibility list, provided, however, that such person desires such long-term assignment.
Long Term Vacancies. In the event that a vacancy is scheduled to occur for greater than 5 regular shifts, that vacancy shall be deemed a long term vacancy.
16.1.3.1. All long term vacancies shall immediately be filled, following the Fill-in List procedures, until that vacancy is permanently filled.
16.1.3.2. A long term vacancy shall not be filled by the reassignment of a firefighter, causing a vacancy on another shift.
16.1.3.3. Long term vacancies shall be filled regardless of minimum staffing levels.

16.2.2.1. All long term vacancies shall immediately be filled by a district appointed “Acting Lieutenant”, or may be filled by a current Lieutenant if an “Acting Lieutenant” is unavailable.
Long Term Vacancies. Should a vacancy exist with an anticipated duration of at least 3 months, if feasible, the Employer will:
Long Term Vacancies. When an employee is accepted for LTD benefits, the job shall be posted as a temporary vacancy with the following conditions:
i. The posting will reflect the temporary status of the position and state that there is potential for the bidder to be returned to his/her original classification if the employee who vacated the position returns to work.
ii. The bidder will return to his/her original classification and the junior employee in that craft group will be subject to lay-off.
iii. If the temporary position becomes permanent, the bidder will automatically retain the position and the job will not be posted.
