Long-Term Substitutes. 6.10.1 When a long-term substitute is employed under Ohio Revised Code Section 3319.10 for sixty (60) consecutive school days in one specific teaching assignment he/she shall receive all of the privileges for that position, except that personal leave shall be accrued at the rate of one (1) day for every sixty (60) days worked after reaching the BA, Step 0, level. 6.10.2 Long-term substitutes will not be entitled to provisions under ORC 3319.11 and 3319.111.
Long-Term Substitutes. Long-term substitutes are defined as substitute Monitors who are placed in the same assignment for more than sixty (60) days. All long-term substitutes shall receive a written contract of employment. The employment of long-term substitutes shall be for the period specified in his/her contract of employment and shall automatically expire at the end of that term without action by the Board or further notice to the Monitor. Beginning with the 61st day of employment, a long-term substitute will be placed at Step 1 of the Monitors’ hourly wage schedule and, except as otherwise specified herein, shall be entitled to all rights, benefits, duties and obligations of this Contract.

Neither the provisions of Non-Renewal and Continuing Contracts, nor the provisions of Ohio Revised Code Section 3319.11, shall apply to long-term substitutes. 5. Long-term substitutes will be informed of their status upon employment. 6. Beginning with the 61st day of employment, long-term substitutes shall be placed on the BA-0 step of the salary schedule. 7. If the employment of a long-term substitute extends beyond one year, the long-term substitute shall be advanced to the next step of the pay scale, assuming that he/she worked a minimum of one hundred twenty (120) days of at least three and one-half (3 ½) hours per day in the prior year. 8. To the extent that the provisions of this Article conflict with the Ohio Revised Code, they shall supersede and replace the same. Except as otherwise specified above, nothing herein shall be deemed to affect the rights and benefits of long-term substitutes available under this Agreement and law.
Long-Term Substitutes. A. A long term substitute, for the purpose of this Agreement, shall be a substitute employed to replace a bargaining unit member who has been granted leave pursuant to this Agreement. Any teacher who has worked as a long-term substitute and who is re- employed by the Board shall have all contractual rights. B. Persons employed as long term substitutes shall be granted contracts for the length of service as needed and as determined by the Board. C. Long term substitutes shall have no expectation of continued employment beyond the length of service at the time of their employment, and said long term substitute contracts shall automatically expire at the conclusion of the Agreement without further action by the Board, including the non-renewal of their contract. D. The provisions of this Agreement regarding evaluation and renewal of teacher contracts shall not apply to long term substitutes. E. Long term substitutes shall have no displacement or recall rights under the reduction in force procedure in this Agreement and shall be excluded from same.
Long-Term Substitutes. 3.7.1 A long-term substitute shall be defined as a substitute teacher teaching more than twenty (20) consecutive days in the place of one (1) regular teacher of the District who is absent from duty on an excused day-to-day basis for an undetermined period of time. On the first through tenth day, long-term substitute receives the District's regular sub rate of pay. On day 11 through 20, the long-term substitute receives the regular sub rate of pay increased by $15.00 per day. Beginning the twenty-first (21st) day of teaching, long-term substitutes shall be placed on Class I, Step I, of the Salary Schedule and paid the per diem rate. 3.7.2 Any absence other than sick leave or bereavement leave shall constitute a break in consecutive days counted toward salary increases. 3.7.3 A contract, long-term substitute shall be defined as a substitute teacher teaching under contract for a pre-determined, long period of service of three (3) school months or more. Contract, long-term substitute teachers shall be placed on the Salary Schedule in accordance with the salary schedule provisions and paid accordingly. A contract, long-term substitute shall receive health and welfare benefits specified under Article IV of the Agreement. Contract, long-term substitute will receive pro-rated sick & personal necessity leave for each month of employment.
Long-Term Substitutes. Effective July 1, 2008, long term substitute teachers shall be paid at BA Step 1. The School District, at its sole and unreviewable discretion, may pay long term substitute teachers on a higher step and/or lane. Effective July 1 2010, long term substitute teachers who have achieved continuing contract status in the School District will be paid according to Article VIII, Section 3.

Long-Term Substitutes. Long-term substitutes are defined as teachers hired to fill the temporary vacancy of a teacher on leave in the same assignment for more than sixty (60) days. The employment of long-term substitutes shall automatically expire at the end of the period of substitution or upon return to duty of the teacher from an approved leave of absence without any action by the Board or further notice to the teacher. a. Beginning with the 61st day of employment in the same assignment, a long-term substitute shall be placed on the BA column, step 0 of the salary schedule. b. A long-term substitute shall be granted a year of service credit only if employed for a minimum of one hundred twenty (120) days (at least three and one-half [3 ½] hours per day) in any one school year. c. The following contractual (Article V) and statutory provisions shall not apply to long-term substitutes: Non-renewal rights, Evaluation Rights and Section 3319.111 of the Ohio Revised Code (unless required by OTES); and Reduction in Force rights and Section 3319.17 of the Ohio Revised Code. d. At any time, long-term substitutes may become regular teaching employees in accordance with normal hiring procedures. Subsequent continuous employment of a long- term substitute for the succeeding school year in the same assignment under another one-year limited contract shall allow the long-term substitute to move to step one (1) of the BA column on the salary schedule.
Long-Term Substitutes. The Board shall reemploy those previous Long-Term Substitutes who are properly licensed as regular contract teachers if it is necessary to add to staff to comply with Article XI and Article IV G-7, prior to employment of any new teacher. (See Article IX, B.) All newly employed teachers prior to October 15, of each school year shall be employed and paid at a salary based on degree, licensure and experience as if they were regular contract teachers, and then they shall be placed under regular contract with the Board, provided sufficient student enrollment exists, effective on October 15, of each year. Long-Term Substitutes shall be employed only as follows: 1. To fill vacancies created by teachers who are granted leave after the opening of school in September, or who have been granted leaves and are entitled to return to their original school and assignment. 2. Long-Term Substitutes will be granted the same salary and fringe benefits as if they had been in regular contract status on the sixtieth (60) day in one teaching assignment as per state statue. 3. In the event that not all Long-Term Substitutes with service in one assignment of one hundred twenty (120) days or more are needed to fill permanent vacancies, these individuals shall be reemployed in long-term temporary vacancies for which they hold proper certification during the succeeding school year before other substitutes are assigned such positions. Notwithstanding the provisions of Ohio Revised Code 3319.10, the provisions of Article IX and XVIII shall continue to apply to employment rights and probationary time. Long-Term Substitutes with one hundred twenty (120) days service reemployed the succeeding school year as long-term substitutes shall be paid a the regular contract salary and benefits from the beginning of their long-term assignment. 4. All Long-Term Substitutes shall be evaluated using the same procedures as those required for regular contract teachers or the intern program whichever is applicable.
Long-Term Substitutes. A. Long-term substitute teachers hired for less than a semester during a school year shall not be eligible for District contribution for insurance plans. These employees may enroll in the District health and hospitalization plan by paying the entire premium. B. Long-term substitute teachers whose term of employment equals or exceeds a semester become eligible for District contribution for insurance plans. They will be reimbursed for any health and hospitalization plan premiums they have paid which the District contributes for other teachers in the bargaining unit.
