MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT - Lump Sum. For the type of alternate design bridge structure selected, subject to a reduction equal to the amount of the Contractor's share of the Department's engineering costs to be determined as follows: • For each alternate bridge structure with lump sum bid item amount less than $2,000,000 = 2% of the lump sum bid amount for structure • For each alternate bridge structure with lump sum bid item amount over $2,000,000 = $40,000 plus 0.25% of the lump sum bid amount over $2,000,000, total amount not to exceed $85,000 Each alternate bridge structure involving a redesign from cast- in- place diaphragms to precast diaphragms will be subject to a reduction of $300 per structure if contractor's bid lump for lump sum item is less than $2,000,000 and a reduction of $750 per lump sum item if structure is over $2,000,000, for the amount of the Contractor's share of the Department's engineering cost. The Contractor's share of the Department's engineering costs will be recovered by processing a contract adjustment (Alternate Design Review) to reduce the contract lump sum price by an amount equal to the Contractor's share. A utility company's share of fabricated structural steel and/ or installation of sleeves, inserts, casings, hanger assemblies, ducts, etc. for utilities is to be a separate item. Do not include the utility company's share in the bid price for the alternate design bridge structure unless otherwise specified. For an alternate design bridge structure, all items of work are to be included in and will be paid for as part of the contract lump sum price; except, bearing piles; pile tip reinforcement; pile load tests; dynamic pile testing; Class C cement concrete under footings; Class 3 excavation, reinforcement bars, and Class A cement concrete for pedestals; and caissons. Placing deck concrete in excess of the indicated quantity will not be considered a change from the design. The contract lump sum price for each alternate bridge structure includes full compensation for all deck concrete.
MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT - Lump Sum. F09.00 EXPRESS E-ZPASS CLOSURE COORDINATION In accordance with Section 105.07 and as follows: During Stage 1 of this project, the Express E-ZPass tolling area will be under construction by others. The Express E-ZPass Contractor is limited to a closure period from Friday evening March 17, 2017 at 9:00 PM to Monday morning April 10, 2017 at 5:00 AM. The allowable working hours do not apply during this time period. Perform the work, including all required traffic control for the Express E-ZPass Contractor, in accordance with the staging as indicated and in Special Provision F08.00. Coordinate work within the allowable closure area. During the express E-ZPass closure, no vehicle traffic, which includes any construction or inspection vehicular traffic, is permitted through the express lanes between the stations bounded by the north and south express lane toll gantries. Where conflict(s) between necessary work operations exists between the Express E-ZPass contract and this project, the Express E-ZPass contract will have priority. The Representative will be the sole and final authority for determining priorities relative to schedule and work to be performed. The decision of the Representative will be final and binding and work will be performed as directed at no additional cost to the Commission for the alteration and adjustment of schedule and work item quantities. Unrestricted access is required at all times to the express E-ZPass lanes for the E-ZPass Contractor’s vehicles and personnel. Allow access to facilitate crane mobilization and demobilization, material delivery, and box trucks. Full access is required to the Express lanes between Station A-98+00 and A- 107+00 for vehicles to pass through for equipment testing. Within 4 hours of notification by the Representative, perform all work required to reinstall glare screen, remove traffic control and open the express lanes to unrestricted traffic.

Includes the Preliminary Project Schedule, the CPM Schedule, Look Ahead Schedules, monthly updates, recovery schedules, all submissions and revisions, software purchases and training, attendance at scheduling meetings, and any work required to provide an acceptable CPM Schedule. 50 percent of the item will be paid when the CPM Schedule is accepted and the remaining 50 percent of the item will be paid on a prorated monthly basis (based on the duration of the project). F18.00 WIRELESS COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEM PA TURNPIKE COMMISSION (ITEM: 4000-0010) F18.01 General – Coordinate, install and test a communications system to convey data between DMS Field Locations and the TOC at the Highspire facility. The communications system will utilize a 4G LTE capable wireless WAN (WWAN) router for network connectivity to transfer the control and status data between the DMS location and the Commission’s TOC in Highspire. The WWAN router and antennas along with other materials will be provided by the Commission. Install, integrate and test the communication system at the locations noted in this contract, to the approval of the Commission. No additional payments will be for the communication system.
