Missed Shifts. Should a nurse be inadvertently missed on a call-in shift, he/she will be paid premium at time and one half (1 ½), for his/her next tour worked.
Missed ShiftsOnce the parties have determined a nurse has been missed during the call-in process for an additional shift, the affected nurse will be offered at least three alternative shifts. The offer to the nurse will be made by the scheduling office in the normal manner. The extra shift will be paid at the rate of pay which the nurse would have received had the offer been made according to the collective agreement. At the time of scheduling the nurse shall not be considered as part of the regular staffing compliment. However, this article continues to be binding regardless of any changes to staffing which occur after the nurse accepts the shift.
Missed Shifts. Should a nurse be inadvertently missed on a call-in shift, he/she will be offered the next available shift that he/she is able to work. (a) Mutual Shift Exchange (MSE) i) An MSE producing more than ten (10) consecutive days off during primetime will not ordinarily be approved. ii) MSE hours worked in a pay period count, in the total hours worked, when additional shifts are offered. iii) MSE hours worked in the pay period count towards premium pay only if the Hospital offers the nurse an additional shift and the total hours worked exceed seventy-five (75) hours. iv) MSE hours will not lead to premium pay either in or outside the pay period in which the exchanged shift is worked. (b) Leave of Absence (LOA) (c) Vacation (VAC) (d) Time-in-Lieu (TIL)

  • Hour Shifts When the Employer deems it necessary to implement a twelve (12) hour work day, affected employees shall be notified pursuant to Clause 14.05. The following Clauses shall be replaced or added to the Collective Agreement where appropriate.

  • Shifts In the Department of Rehabilitation and Correction, the Agency may schedule nursing personnel on a rotational shift basis for a temporary period during the opening of new facilities. The Agency shall not schedule any employee to rotate more than two (2) different shifts in any four (4) week scheduling period. Exceptions may be mutually agreed to by the parties. In the other Agencies, shifts shall not be rotated unless mutually agreed to by the parties.

  • Hour Shift A ten (10) hour tour shall be inclusive of an unpaid thirty-seven and one half (37.5) minute meal period and two fifteen (15) minute paid relief periods.

  • Work Shifts Employees shall be scheduled to work on regular work shifts having regular starting and quitting times. Except for emergencies (see Section D), employees' work schedules shall not be changed without written notice to the employee at least five (5) working days prior to the date the change is to be effective. Irregular work schedules shall not be changed without written notice to the employee at least ten

  • Shift Hours All shifts assigned by the Employer must conform with the following guidelines: (a) Four (4) hour shifts will be the minimum shift permitted in any one (1) day. (b) Shifts of 4, 6 or 8 hours may be assigned, subject to the provisions of Article 9.05.

  • Minimum Break between Shifts (a) Where it is necessary to work extended overtime, it is agreed that no Employee shall resume or continue to work without having had ten consecutive hours off duty between the termination of the overtime and the commencement of the Employee’s ordinary work on the next day or shift. (b) In the event that an Employee agrees to a request from site management to resume or continue to work without having had ten consecutive hours off duty, the Employee shall be paid at double ordinary time rates until the Employee is released from duty for such period.

  • Overtime Hours Except as otherwise provided in this section, all hours worked in excess of the established work day, before or after an employee's regular scheduled shift, or on any regularly scheduled day off, shall be considered overtime. All paid vacation time, paid holidays, paid sick leave, compensatory time off, and paid leaves of absence shall be considered as "time worked" for purposes of this Article. Part-time employees whose established work day is less than eight (8) hours shall not be considered to be working overtime until having completed eight (8) hours of work.

  • Overtime Meals When employees are required to work more than two (2) hours beyond their regular work days, the Employer will provide hot meals at no cost to the employees, up to a maximum of sixteen dollars ($16.00) (receipts to be submitted) plus paid meal periods of one-half (1/2) hour at the prevailing rate and thereafter at four (4) hour intervals. Any early morning start before regular starting time is entitled to a paid meal. The breakfast limit is thirteen dollars ($13.00) (receipts to be submitted). Employees called out on overtime shall be paid for meals as above, after four (4) hours work.

  • consecutive months If the Employer extends an individual employee’s trial service period, the Employer will provide the employee with written reasons for the extension. Employees in an in-training appointment will follow the provisions outlined in Subsection 4.3 E.

  • Hours Worked For the purpose of computing the number of hours worked, all time during which an employee is in paid status shall be construed as hours worked.
