Mutual Shift Exchange. Requests for mutual shift exchange must be submitted in writing and co-signed by the Regular Part-time employees desiring to exchange shifts to their department supervisor. It is understood and agreed that any such changes initiated by Regular Part-time employees, if approved by the department supervisor, shall not result in any overtime compensation, premium payments or any other claim under the terms of this Agreement. It is further understood and agreed that if an employee's request for exchange of shifts results in a conflict with the provisions of the Collective Agreement and said request is granted, it shall not be considered a violation of the terms of the Collective Agreement. Mutual shift exchange requests shall not be unreasonably denied.
Mutual Shift Exchange. (a) Mutual shift change (MSE) is defined as trading of an agreed upon shift between two (2) nurses after the schedule is posted.
(b) Nurses may be allowed to trade days off on their own, providing that such request is submitted in writing to the Hospital forty-eight (48) hours in advance of the change and mutually signed by the nurses involved in the change and approved by the manager. Such mutual exchange of a tour of duty shall not result in overtime compensation to either of the nurses. Such approval will not be unreasonably withheld. A nurse will be advised in writing within twenty-four (24) hours of the reason for such denial.
Mutual Shift Exchange. With the prior written approval of the Company, employees may exchange shifts provided that the employee gives the Manager forty-eight (48) hours advance written notice. Approval for such requests shall not be unreasonably withheld. Mutual shift exchanges shall not result in any increased cost to the Company.
Mutual Shift Exchange. Permanent Full Time Employees may choose to exchange shift lines with an Employee in the same classification, by mutual Agreement of both Employees subject to the following:
1) Such exchange will be requested, in writing, to the Reporting Supervisor for review and approval.
2) Approved Mutual shift exchanges will be for a minimum of six (6) months. Employees will be required to remain in their exchanged shift for its entire duration.
3) Both Employees involved in the shift exchange will assume the vacation schedule of the person they are replacing.
Mutual Shift Exchange. It is agreed that an employee may relieve another employee of their regular scheduled shift on the basis of mutual agreement and with the consent of the Manager. Any exchange of proposed shifts must be submitted to a Manager for approval with details as to the shift(s) being relieved and repaid. Such request shall not be unreasonably denied. No overtime will be paid to the employee(s) working a mutual shift exchange.
Mutual Shift Exchange. Requests for mutual shift exchange must be submitted no less than twenty-four (24) hours prior to the scheduled shift in writing on the change of shift form (provided by employer) and co-signed by the employees desiring to exchange shifts to their department supervisor and/or Designate. For a request for a mutual shift exchange where twenty-four (24) hours’ notice is not possible, the request will not be unreasonably denied. It is understood and agreed that any such changes initiated by employees, if approved by the department supervisor and/or Designate, shall not result in any overtime compensation, premium payments or any other claim under terms of this Agreement. It is further understood and agreed that if the employee’s request for exchange of shifts results in a conflict with the provisions of the Collective Agreement and said request is granted, it shall not be considered a violation of the terms of the Collective Agreement. Mutual shift exchanges will not be approved where departmental operations are adversely affected. For clarity, Mutual Shift exchange is on an equivalent shift-for-a-shift basis as per the Collective Agreement. The collective agreement shall provide twelve (12) paid holidays with appropriate payment to all employees who have completed twenty (20) days worked with the employer, provided that he fulfils the qualifying conditions, if any, set out in the respective collective agreements. It is understood that the list of paid holidays may include a combination of designated and non-designated days such as float days, anniversary days, and birthdays.

The purpose of this privilege is to reduce absenteeism by allowing employees to handle unexpected situations or ones that conflict with their work schedule. An employee may ask another employee to work his shift, on condition that he has received his supervisor's authorization to do so. Except under exceptional circumstances, a request for a shift exchange shall be submitted in writing to the supervisor, who shall approve it at least forty-eight (48) hours before the shift in question. This approval must bear the signature of the supervisor and both employees involved. The Company reserves the right to temporarily or permanently withdraw this privilege from an employee who does not respect the established procedures or who abuses this privilege.
Mutual Shift Exchange.
23.01 The exchange of mutual shifts must be requested by an employee in advance. Mutual shift exchanges are only to be used in cases of unforeseen circumstances or emergencies and not as a regular practice, excepting shift exchanges in observance of religious holidays. Employees are to exchange shifts only with other associates in the same job classification such that the exchange of shift will not result in an employee working more hours than allowed under the Employment Standards Act. A mutual shift exchange must take place within the same period with identical hours of work. Mutual shift exchange cannot be used in conjunction with approved vacation or emergency leave. All mutual shift exchange requests require the written consent of the employees with whom the shift change is being made as well as the written approval of both shift supervisors on a form supplied by the company per existing practice.

The Company reserves the right to temporarily or permanently withdraw this privilege from an employee who does not respect the established procedures or who abuses this privilege. Written instructions concerning transfers, promotions, demotions, disciplinary action, unpaid leaves of absence and/or vacations shall be put in the personal file. Upon his request, an employee may have access to his personal Company file. He shall consult it in the presence of his Human Resources Representative, within the two (2) weeks following his request. Upon his request, he may also obtain a copy of his personal file or part of it. The employee's personal file shall be kept completely confidential. Union representatives with written authorization by the employee may have access to the personal information it contains. In the event that an employee is underpaid, that is, if fifty dollars ($50) or more are missing from his base salary and the Company is responsible for this error, the Company agrees to correct it within the four (4) working days following receipt by the Payroll Department of the written notice informing of this error. Any other error shall be corrected on the employee's subsequent pay cheque. In the event that an employee is overpaid, a maximum of fifteen per cent (15%) shall be deducted from his gross salary, by pay period, until all amounts owed are reimbursed. It is the employee's responsibility to inform the employer of any mistake in pay. Mutual Shift Exchange. The Parties agree to the following provisions, on a trial basis. The functioning of this language will be reviewed in bargaining. Either party may notify the other of its wish to discontinue the practice on sixty (60) days written notice, the change being automatically effected at the expiration of notice.
