Additional Shifts. 20.1 The Employer is committed to maximising its permanent workforce in line with its occupancy levels. The Employer will always offer additional shifts in the first instance to its permanent part-time staff where practicable. It will then offer additional shifts to its casual or bank staff, where applicable. 20.2 The realisation of this objective will require high levels of co-operation from employees in ensuring the objectives of maximising the use of permanent part-time employees and, when required, relevant bank staff.

Additional Shifts. Employees may be requested to work one additional shift per Roster Cycle and shall not unreasonably refuse to work such shift, provided overtime shifts are rostered equitably across Employees on each line, and overtime allocation shall be at the discretion of the Employer. The Employer shall initially call upon volunteers who have expressed interest in working overtime shifts.
Additional Shifts. If an employee is required to change shift more than once in a calendar week he will be paid at double rate for the balance of the week, unless the second change is to return to his original shift.
Additional Shifts. Part-time Employees who wish to work additional hours shall so indicate in writing to the Employer. When additional hours are available, the Employer will offer such additional hours to Regular Part-time Employees on an equitable basis. If all available shifts are not filled, then Casual Employees may be assigned shifts as equitably as possible. Additional Shifts. 9.4.1 Part-time and casual employees shall only work an additional shift each day on a voluntary basis provided that: 9.4.1.1 No more than two engagements shall be worked on any one day; 9.4.1.2 A minimum of 3 hours work shall apply for the original rostered shift and 3 hours for the additional shift; 9.4.1.3 A minimum break of not less than 2 hours shall apply between the cessation of the original rostered shift and the commencement of the additional shift; 9.4.1.4 The maximum hours of work per day shall not exceed 10 hours; 9.4.1.5 Where a second engagement occurs on any one day, a 10 hour break shall be observed between the cessation of work on that second shift and the commencement of the next shift; and 9.4.1.6 The arrangement shall be on a voluntary basis where the employee may revoke the agreement to work an additional shift provided that reasonable notice is given to the Company.
Additional Shifts. (a) Part-time Employees wishing to work additional hours, in the same classification, and who so indicate their availability in writing on a monthly basis to the Employer shall be given preference and first opportunity to work any additional hours. If all available shifts are not filled, then Casual Employees may be assigned shifts as equitably as possible. (b) Part-time Employees who wish to work additional hours shall provide their availability, in writing, to the Employer a month in advance. Failure to provide availability shall result in the Part-time Employee not being offered shifts, and being “inactive” for that particular month. (c) Shifts that are known to be available prior to the posting of the schedule, or shifts that become available after the posting of the schedule that are not a short notice shift [twenty-four (24) hours or less], shall be filled by Part-time Employees within the classification first, subject to the Part-time Employee’s written availability, in order of seniority, on a rotational basis. The Employer shall bypass a Part-time Employee on the list who would be eligible for overtime if scheduled to work on available shift. (d) When shifts become available on short notice after the posting of the schedule the Employer shall send a group text to all Part-time and Casual Employees, who have submitted their availability in writing. A time-limited response of ten (10) minutes is provided and all respondents are considered based on seniority. If no Part-Time Employee responds, the shift is awarded to the first Casual Employee who responded. The Employer shall bypass any Employee on the list who would be eligible for overtime if scheduled to work a short notice shift. (e) If texting is not feasible, the Employer shall call all Part-time and Casual Employees who have submitted their availability in writing, in order of seniority, on a rotational basis. If no Part-time Employee accepts, the shift is awarded to the first Casual Employee who is contacted and accepts. The Employer shall bypass any Employee on the list who would be eligible for overtime if scheduled to work a short notice shift.

Additional Shifts. (a) A Part-time Employee may work additional shifts. (b) Where a Part-time Employee volunteers or agrees to work additional shifts, she shall be paid at her Basic Rate of Pay for such hours, or if applicable, at the overtime rate provided in Article 32.04: (i) for those hours worked in excess of seven and three-quarter (7¾) hours in a day; or (ii) for work performed by the Employee on days in excess of the work ratio referred to in Article 32.02 (1) (b). (c) Where the Employer requires a Part-time Employee to work without her having volunteered or agreed to do so, she shall be paid the overtime rate as outlined in Article 32.04, provided that: (i) the work exceeds seven and three-quarter (7¾) hours in a day; or (ii) the work is in excess of the work ratio referred to in Article 32.02. (d) An effort shall be made by the Employer to ensure fair and equitable distribution of extra shifts through the use of the Part-time Availability Roster.
Additional Shifts. Starting times for shifts scheduled by the Port shall conform with the following: First Shift Second Shift Third Shift 5:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. 10:00 p.m. to 12:00 midnight The second shift premium shall be ten percent (10%) more than the first (day) shift rate, and the third shift premium shall be fifteen percent (15%) more than the first (day) shift rate. Starting time for an individual employee shall be fixed at the same starting time for the entire workweek.
Additional Shifts. Additional shifts or vacancies to be filled shall be filled efficiently and in a cost- effective manner to support access to shifts, staffing levels, and continuity and consistency of care. Staff will be oriented to the scheduling software to support their access and use of the system. Part-time Employees may pick up extra shifts in addition to their regularly scheduled shifts up to the full time equivalent for their classification. (a) A Part-time Employee may submit in writing their willingness to pick up additional shifts. The Employer may schedule Part-time Employees, who have given their request in writing, for additional shifts with the consent of the Part-time Employee. Where there are available additional shifts the Employer shall distribute the additional shifts to Part-time Employees first in accordance with Clause 12.08(b), except when the available shifts must be filled with less than eight (8) hours of notice. These short notice shifts will be provided to the first available Part-time or Casual Employee who responds to the Employer’s request. (b) (i) Opportunity to work additional hours of work shall be made available to Part-time Employees first, by seniority, who are available, and have requested additional hours;
