The 'Occasional Assignment to a Different Workplace' clause allows an employer to temporarily assign an employee to work at a location other than their usual workplace. Occasional Assignment to a Different Workplace. Employees requested to report to a workplace other than their home workplace, within the Health Region, on an occasional and short term basis, shall be assigned as follows: i) Qualified and able Employees will be approached in order of seniority and offered the opportunity for assignment. If more than one (1) person volunteers, the work will be assigned by seniority. If no Employees agree to the assignment, the Employer will assign the most junior qualified and able Employee. ii) The Employer shall provide workplace and service orientation to an Employee who is assigned. iii) The Employer shall pay transportation costs associated with travel between workplaces during the workday or provide a CVA. iv) This Article shall not be used to circumvent the rights of Employees under Article 11.18 – Assignment of Relief Work, except where operational requirements dictate.
