Permanent employees will be laid off in accordance with seniority, as defined in Article 35, Seniority, and the skills and abilities of the employee within the layoff unit. The Employer will determine if the employee possesses the required skills and abilities for the position and the comparability of the position. Comparability is defined as having the same FTE appointment. The average number of hours worked in a year for 1.0 FTE equals two thousand eighty-eight (2088) hours. For this Section, a less than comparable position is defined as not less than eighty percent (80%) of the employee’s FTE appointment.
