Oral Board. The Oral Board shall consist of three (3) members appointed by the Sheriff. One member shall be the Undersheriff and the remaining two positions will be filled from outside the Department, at least one of which will be a law enforcement officer of a rank higher than the position to be filled. The manner of selection of the members of the Oral Board shall be at the discretion of the Sheriff. Results of the written examination shall not be made available to the Oral Board.

Oral Board. The Human Resources Director may designate an impartial Port representative to sit as a non voting member on an oral board for a regular or promotional examination.
Oral Board. The Employer shall select the Oral Board which shall be composed of four (4) sworn members from police agencies, of whom no more than one (1) may be a member of the Department. If applicants from outside the Department are considered for the rank of Commander, no Oral Board member may be from the applicant’s Department. All Oral Board members must be of comparable or greater rank to the rank of the promotional vacancy.
Oral Board. An applicant who has achieved a passing score on the written examination may participate in the Oral Board Examination. The Oral Board shall be composed of police supervisory and mid-level managers from departments outside the City.
Oral Board. A board used for oral examination shall consist of two (2) professional police officers appointed by the Director of Human Resources and the Director of Human Resources or his or her delegate.
Oral Board. 100 percent (100%). An applicant must score 70 percent (70%) on the written examination to take the Oral Board. An Oral Board will be held for promotions to the positions listed in Section 10.2 (e) (Deputy, Correctional Officer, Animal Control, Dispatcher, Detective, Road Patrol Corporal, Road Patrol Sergeant, Jail Sergeant, Dispatch Shift Leader and Intake Officer Classifications). All vacancies will be determined on the basis of a written examination, performance evaluations and Oral Board. The oral board will be formatted to equal 100 points.
Oral Board. An Oral Board may be conducted by the Assessment Center.
Oral Board. Candidates must pass this phase with a minimum score of seventy percent (70%). Oral Board will consist of a panel of three (3) Fire Officers/executives from the Tri- County area holding the rank of Captain or higher.
Oral Board. Oral examinations shall be conducted by an Oral Board. Oral Boards shall consistent of three (3) fire service professionals as selected by the Human Resources Director. The names of the three (3) oral board members shall be submitted to the Union President or his designee for consideration. The Union President or his designee must agree to that list within seven (7) calendar days. If no agreement is reached, the Human Resources Director shall determine the oral board make-up.
