Other absences Agreeing on absences. ‌ 1. Employees shall agree on absences under this Section with the employer. 2. Due to the death of close relatives or funeral, the possibility for a short absence of no more than one day will be arranged for the employee. The employee’s pay or annual holiday benefits will not be reduced due to such an absence. Application instruction: In this connection, close relatives mainly refers to parents, grand- parents and in-laws, children, spouse, partner and brothers and sisters. In-laws also refers to the partner’s parents if the Act on the Disso- lution of the Household of Cohabiting Partners is applied to part- ners. 3. An employee receives a paid holiday, if the day of marriage is their work- ing day. 4. Employees are granted a paid day off on their 50th and 60th birthday if the anniversary is their working day. 5. Pay will not be reduced when an employee liable for military service re- sponds to a call-up. 6. If an employee participates in the reservist training or supplementary civil- ian service, the employee will be paid the difference between the salary and the reservist pay for each day served in this capacity. 7. Female employees entering into voluntary military service will be granted an unpaid leave for the duration of the military service. For this period, no benefits based on the employment relationship will be accumulated. 8. Employees who are members of an electoral commission or committee established under the law for the election of a municipal council or a mu- nicipal executive board, for a national or municipal election, shall receive the difference between the salary and the compensation for the loss of income paid by the municipality if the meeting of the parties mentioned above is held during the employee’s working time. The difference will be paid when the employee has submitted the report on the compensation for the loss of income paid by the municipality. Participation in the meeting shall not result in the reduction of annual holiday benefits.

  • Extended Absences In the event Tenant will be away from the Premises for more than 7 consecutive days, Tenant agrees to notify Landlord in writing of such absence.   • Excused Absences Absences will be excused only under the following circumstances.

  • Approved Leave of Absence With Pay During Vacation When an employee is qualified for bereavement leave, sick leave or any other approved leave with pay during her vacation period, there shall be no deduction from the vacation credits for such leave. In the case of sick leave, this section shall only apply when the period of illness or injury is in excess of two (2) days and a note from a physician may be required. The period of vacation so displaced shall be taken at a mutually agreed time. An employee intending to claim displaced vacation leave must advise the Employer and provide necessary documentation within seven (7) days of returning to work.

  • Reporting Absences Employees are responsible for reporting to work on time on each scheduled work day. When an Employee is absent from work, they will notify their Supervisor or designate by telephone before the beginning of the work period or as soon as practicable. The Employee shall inform their Supervisor or designate of the reason for the absence, the expected time of their return to work and a telephone number where they may be reached in their absence.

  • SICKNESS ABSENCE Absence Due to Sickness or Quarantine Prior to the Eighth Full Calendar Day of Absence 29.01 An employee having six (6) months net credited service, or more, who is absent on account of sickness or quarantine, shall be paid for continuous absence prior to the eighth full calendar day of such absence, as follows: (a) An employee with six (6) months but less than two (2) years net credited service shall be paid for that part of the absence in excess of four (4) consecutive half tours. (b) An employee with two (2) but less than four (4) years net credited service shall be paid for that part of the absence in excess of two (2) consecutive half tours. (c) In the determination of pay treatment in Subsections 29.01 (a) and (b), a return to work not exceeding two (2) half tours shall not be considered to have interrupted the continuity of the absence, nor the consecutiveness of the half tours of absence. However, for purposes of determining the eighth full calendar day of absence, any return to work shall interrupt the continuity of an absence. (d) An employee with four (4) or more years net credited service shall be paid for the full absence. (e) An employee is not entitled to any pay or other benefit provided under this Article for any day in which she is in receipt of, or entitled to, any pay or other benefit under any other provision of this Agreement. 29.02 Upon the eighth full calendar day of an absence covered under Section 29.01, such an absence shall be treated in accordance with applicable Company practices currently in effect, or as amended from time to time following notification to the Union.

  • Approved Leave of Absence During Vacation Where it can be established by the employee through a doctor's certificate that an illness or accident occurred, or where an employee qualifies for bereavement or any other approved leave during his/her period of vacation, there shall be no deduction from vacation credits for such absence. The period of vacation so displaced shall either be added to the vacation or reinstated for use at a later date, at the employee's option, as mutually agreed.
