Overall Summative Performance Rating. The final summative score must be determined by an analysis of evidence. A classroom teacher shall receive a summative performance rating for each if the eight (8) state evaluation criteria. Overall Summative Performance Rating. At a minimum, the Focused Performance Rating shall be the prior Comprehensive Performance Rating, either Proficient (3) or Distinguished (4). A teacher may work to improve this rating. By definition the Focused Performance Rating is an evaluative statement about the classroom teacher’s comprehensive performance based upon the pre-determined evidence that the classroom teacher has already been deemed overall Proficient or Distinguished. A classroom teacher on the Focused Evaluation will not be deemed less than Proficient.
