New Educators. Newly-hired educators will be placed on the salary schedule in the column and step commensurate with their degree and years of experience.
New EducatorsDistrict required training or orientations for new employees held prior to the start of the school year shall be paid at per diem. All new educators in their first year of service will be provided with $800 (includes current professional development funds of $450) for professional development. These funds must be used for classroom materials, professional development, and/or sub costs to provide one (1) release day for professional development, observation or meeting with a mentor.
New EducatorsProvide a stipend, from pay earned, for new educators to the profession on the Tuesday following the first board meeting in September. This stipend ($600 for a 1.0 FTE and prorated accordingly) will be reduced equally over the remainder of the new educator¶V FRQWUDFW 6KRXOG DQ HGXFDWRU¶V FRQWUDFW EH final check will be reduced accordingly. Educators new to the profession shall receive access to purchase $100 worth of supplies for the classroom.
New Educators. All educators newly employed by the District who have not begun participating in PERS because of the waiting period eligibility requirement shall receive during such period an amount equivalent to the dollar amount “picked up” by the District for an educator on that step who is under PERS until such time as the new educator participates in PERS and is eligible to have contributions “picked up”.
New Educators. At the annual District meeting for new educators, a time will be set aside for the Association to address and enroll new educators.
New EducatorsNew Hire Transition: An employee hired after the start of the school year shall be given two (2) days of release time in order to move into and become oriented to the school and curriculum. Provide one time allocation of three hundred thirty-eight dollars ($338) as a stipend in September for instructional supplies and materials to all employees who are in their first continuing contract within the profession. These funds would be in addition to the two hundred twenty-five dollars ($225) per elementary employee provided annually through a stipend in September.
New Educators. Will I get time release as a New Educator (ECTs) under the new Agreement? Are there any changes to the number of PA days I am required to do each year under the new Agreement? Have any changes been made to the timing of PA days that have been agreed to under the new Agreement? Can other Professional Activities such as school socials, presentation evenings and parent teacher meetings go past 5.00pm?
