OVERTIME ALLOCATION GUIDELINES. When Overtime is required a sign-up sheet for employees wanting to work the overtime will be posted in Supervisor’s office. The sign-up sheet will be posted at the beginning of each week for “possible overtime during this week”. An employee absent may sign the sheet at their first earliest convenience, taking into consideration the cut-off time for weekend overtime listed below. - The sign up sheet will include the: o Name of employee o Shift(s) employee is available for - Employee’s must sign the sheet to indicate their desire to be considered for overtime whether it be weekday or weekend. - Employees going on vacation will not be entitled to weekend overtime during the week of their vacation, unless an emergency situation arises. The company and the union will review the emergency situation. - The company will endeavour to make calls for weekend overtime by Thursday at the latest, unless an unforeseen circumstance arises. Phone calls will be made with as much advance notice as possible. - Sign-ups for weekend overtime must be done by Thursday at 7am. Cancellation of Overtime must be by Friday at Noon for weekend overtime - Overtime will be awarded as per the collective agreement. Overtime lists will be posted on the punch clock bulletin board. OVERTIME ALLOCATION GUIDELINES. Lactalis will address employees with excessive absenteeism and/or a clear pattern of absenteeism (e.g. excessive single day absences). If an employee brings a carer's certificate, and has a good record of attendance, they will be considered equally for an opportunity (where available) to work overtime in the week of the absence.
