Overtime & Shift Premiums a) If a regular full-time employee should work, as authorized, in excess of seventy-five (75) hours over a two (2) week period, she shall be paid overtime for such excess hours worked at the rate of one and one-half (1.5) times his straight time hourly rate. Authorized leaves and absences, sick time, vacation, float days and paid holidays shall be considered as hours worked for the purposes of this article. b) Regular part-time and temporary part-time employees shall be paid at the rate of time and one-half (1.5) of their straight time hourly rate for all hours worked in excess of their posted scheduled hours or seven and one-half (7.5) hours whichever is greater. c) An employee whose work hours extend past five (5:00) p.m. on any of her scheduled work days shall be paid, in addition to her straight time pay, a shift differential of one dollar and fifty cents ($1.50) per hour for each completed hour actually worked between five (5:00) p.m. and seven (7:00) a.m.. d) The above noted premium shall not form part of the employee's hourly rate of pay. e) Any employee who is scheduled to work and works a shift where any hours fall between 00h01 Saturday and 23h59 Sunday shall receive a premium of two dollars ($2.00) for each hour worked of that shift that falls between 00h01 Saturday and 23h59 Sunday. f) By mutual agreement between the regular full-time employee and their supervisor/manager, overtime compensation may be taken in time off equivalent to the applicable overtime rate, as determined by the employee's supervisor/manager. Such banked time, however, will not exceed thirty-seven and one-half (37.5) hours. Hours in excess of thirty-seven and one-half (37.5) shall be paid out to the employee at the applicable overtime rates. g) Compensating time off not taken by fiscal year end shall also be paid out at the applicable overtime rates. h) There shall be no pyramiding of overtime with other premium rates of pay (e.g., Statutory Holiday Worked, Call-back, Call-in) for the same hours worked. Overtime or premium rates of pay shall be calculated under one provision of the terms and conditions only, unless specifically provided otherwise. In the case of a conflict, the highest overtime or premium shall apply. i) Shift and/or weekend premiums, if applicable, are payable on any overtime hours worked.

  • Shift Premiums (a) All employees who are required by the Employer to rotate over two (2) or more shifts shall receive a shift premium of thirty cents ($0.30) for each hour worked on the afternoon or evening shifts only. Shift premium will not be paid for any hour in which an employee receives overtime premium and shift premium will not form part of the employee's straight time hourly rate. (b) In no event shall there be any pyramiding of benefits or payments.

For hours worked in excess of sixteen (16) in a twenty-four (24) hour period, employees shall be paid double time. Employees who receive an unpaid lunch period and are not required to work at their work assignments during such period shall not have such time treated as hours worked for the purpose of computing overtime.
