PAID TIME OFF (PTO) AND SICK LEAVE. Utilization of Sick Leave is limited to those cases in which a member is too sick or injured to report to work for at least three (3) consecutively scheduled workdays, and will be subject to all of the provisions on Sick Leave Usage that may apply in Article 13.3. In such cases, the first two (2) days of absence will be deducted from PTO, and absences on any remaining consecutively scheduled workdays will be deducted from sick leave. Sick leave can, however, also be utilized to cover any absence for which the member qualifies and is granted FMLA and/or OFLA leave or in cases where the member is medically restricted by a health care provider from working as a result of a Workers’ Compensation claim in accordance with Article 14. It is understood that from time to time a member may be unable to work due to an unforeseen, unscheduled illness lasting less than three (3) days. Unscheduled absences of this kind will be covered by the member’s PTO bank, and will be subject to all of the provisions on the usage of sick leave that apply. Unscheduled absences due to illness that are covered by PTO are not subject to the forty-eight (48)-hour advance notice requirement and must be recorded in the City’s record-keeping system as PTO-Sick.

PAID TIME OFF (PTO) AND SICK LEAVE. Beginning July 1, 2006, six fewer days per year will accrue into each employee’s Sick Leave bank. Utilization of Sick Leave is limited to those cases in which a member is too sick or ill to report to work for at least three (3) consecutively scheduled workdays, and will be subject to all of the provisions on Sick Leave Usage that may apply in Article 13.3. In such cases, the first two (2) days of absence will be deducted from PTO, and absences on any remaining consecutively scheduled workdays will be deducted from sick leave. Sick leave can, however, also be utilized to cover any absence resulting from a serious medical condition for which the member qualifies and is granted FMLA or OFLA leave, or in cases where the member is medically restricted by a physician from working as a result of a Workers’ Compensation claim. It is understood that from time to time a member may be unable to work due to an unforeseen, unscheduled illness lasting less than three (3) days. Unscheduled absences of this kind will be covered by the member’s PTO bank, and will be subject to all of the provisions on the usage of sick leave that apply.   • Paid Time Off (PTO) Executive shall earn and accrue paid-time-off covering vacation and sick time benefits at the rate of twenty (20) days per year for employment periods of up to five years of service. The PTO accrual rate shall automatically increase by five (5) additional days for each additional 5 years of service up to maximum of thirty (30) days per year after 10 years of service. For example, after five years of service, the annual PTO accrual rate shall increase to twenty-five (25) days. Unused PTO shall carry over to the next year, but Executive shall cease accruing further PTO at any time Executive has accrued two times his annual accrual rate. Unused PTO days which are not in excess of two-times the annual accrual rate shall be paid in a cash lump sum payment promptly after Executive’s termination of employment.

  • Paid Time Off The Executive shall be entitled to take paid time off in accordance with the Company’s applicable paid time off policy for executives, as may be in effect from time to time.

  • Paid Sick Leave Employees shall earn and be granted paid sick leave according to the following provisions:

  • Unpaid Time Off All accruals must be exhausted prior to taking unpaid time off (unless eligible for EIT access).

  • Sick Leave While on Vacation An employee who while on vacation is incapacitated for one (1) or more days due to personal illness or injury may charge such days to accrued sick leave. In such event, the employee promptly shall notify his department, and upon return to duty shall substantiate the need for, and use of, sick leave.

  • Annual Paid Sick Leave Fifteen (15) days sick leave per year shall be earned by an employee at the rate of 1.25 days for every month that an employee is employed.

  • Time Off The company recognises that sufficient time off to attend to personal matters and for recreation are important to the employee’s wellbeing, job satisfaction and overall productivity. Accordingly, time off may be taken with the consent of the Company, which shall not be unreasonably withheld. In considering the approval to have time off, the Parties will have regard to the current works programme and the urgency of the reason for time off. In the event that time off is to be taken, it will be the employee’s obligation to advise the Company in advance or as soon as practicable on the day of absence, recognising that unplanned absences can cause costly disruption to programmed works and are a major source of annoyance for the company, other employees and clients. The object of offering flexible working hours is that in return employees will take very seriously their obligation to turn up when they are expected. In view of the disruption caused by unplanned and or notified absenteeism, repeated failure to observe the protocol for time off would constitute misconduct.

  • Vacation and Sick Leave At such reasonable times as the Board of Directors shall in its discretion permit, the Employee shall be entitled, without loss of pay, to absent himself voluntarily from the performance of his employment under this Agreement, with all such voluntary absences to count as vacation time; provided that:

  • Banked Vacation Once every five years an employee may bank one full year's vacation to be taken in conjunction with the next year's vacation. For the purposes of this clause, all vacation in the second year must be taken concurrently.

  • Paid Vacation Except as otherwise provided in this Article, paid vacation shall be granted no longer than the fiscal year immediately following the fiscal year in which it is earned.
