Beginning July. 1, 2005, less than full-time bargaining unit members who are at least fifty-five (55) years of age with at least five (5) years of services in the District and who have participated in the District’s health and welfare plan continuously for the immediate 24 months preceding retirement, may purchase a health and welfare package (health, dental and vision) at the retiree rates. Bargaining unit members must elect benefits within the required election period, as defined by the insurance carriers. For part-time bargaining unit members who are at least fifty-five (55) years of age with at least fifteen (15) years of service in the District and who have participated in the District’s health and welfare plan continuously for the immediate 24 months preceding retirement, the District shall contribute a prorata share toward a group health package (medical, dental, and vision). The prorata share shall be determined by the number of hours assigned to the affected bargaining unit member at the time of retirement as the numerator, divided by the number of hours in a full-time assignment. (For example, the District would contribute up to 50% of the contribution defined in Article 7.6.1 for a 4-hour bargaining unit member towards the health and welfare package (health, dental and vision). Bargaining unit members must elect benefits within the required election period, as defined by the insurance carriers.
Beginning July. 1, 2004, a union member requesting and qualifying for an FMLA leave may only get pay chargeable against the teacher’s absence day allowance and/or accumulation for: personal illness, personal injury, disability, or other reasons approved by the Superintendent (per Articles 14.0 and 14.7.1). FMLA approved leaves for other than such personal qualifying conditions shall be unpaid.
Beginning July. 1, 2016, a part time unit member who is on duty and serves as a unit member for at least seventy-five percent (75%) of the days school is in session in any school year shall receive credit for one (1) year of service toward advancement on the salary schedule. This requirement can be achieved over two (2) consecutive school years. “On duty” is any instructional day that a unit member is receiving an amount equal to his/her per diem rate of pay (including on personal leave, workers’ compensation leave, etc.) for his/her job position.

Beginning July. 15, unassigned MBUs may be assigned to a position in accordance with 8-4-E.
Beginning July. 1, 2012, all teachers employed by the Lancaster School District who are members of the State Teachers’ Retirement System (STRS), will receive twelve (12) monthly pay warrants.
Beginning July. 1, 2022, the hourly rate for the certificated teachers who teach the California Adult Education Program courses (High School Diploma, CTE, Workforce Preparation, Parent Child K12-Success, and English Second Language) shall be $41.00 per hour.
Beginning July. 1. 2020, employees who are interested in participating in the program will notify the District Human Resources Office in writing by March 30th. If the district grants the employee’s request, the District and employee will, prior to July 1 of the school year during which the employee’s workload will be reduced, enter into a written agreement setting forth the terms and conditions of such participation.
Beginning July. 1, 2018, ESP members will receive a longevity bonus, payable only in the fiscal year following the achievement of 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, and 40 years of service. The longevity bonus will be paid on the first regular pay period after July 1, based on the following scale: A one-time payment of: 2% of current base salary after achieving 15 years of service with the College.
Beginning July. 1, 2021, “The salary schedule shall provide an anniversary increment for verifiable service in the profession, consistent with article 20.6.” Unit members adversely affected by the language in place prior to July 1, 2021 (such that those members’ years credited to anniversary increments was reduced due to service in other districts, or break in service) shall have their anniversary step placement adjusted to reflect the updated language. This change is understood to be prospective, based on the language updated as of July 1, 2021, and shall not result in retroactive payment. Effective July 1, 2023, the increment shall be $525 per year starting the 14th year of service, increasing by $525 for each succeeding year through the 19th year. The increment shall be $600 starting the 20th year of service, increasing by $600 for each succeeding year. A leave of absence granted by the District shall not be considered a break in service. A paid leave shall be considered as credit for salary increment.
