Partial Absence. When an academic employee is absent for only part of a day, actual time loss from assigned duties shall be deducted. This includes not only direct instructional, counseling or library assignments, but also any office hours, department or division meetings, advising, or other assigned duties.

Partial Absence. If, following injury or sickness an insured person is required to reduce their working hours for their usual occupation on the recommendation of a general medical practitioner, the insurer will pay the benefit shown in the schedule, reduced proportionately in line with the insured person’s part time hours or reduced duties. Provided that if, as a result of the same injury or sickness, the insured person suffers temporary total disablement, this will all be treated as one claim and will be subject to one benefit period. The insurance provided by this clause excludes and does not cover any absence beyond the maximum benefit period as stated in the schedule. If any period of temporary total disablement follows such partial absence, the combined benefit period of partial absence and temporary total disablement shall not exceed the maximum benefit period for temporary total disablement.

  • Other Absences An employee who is absent from work for any reason, other than those reasons listed above, will not be entitled either to have his/her vacation scheduled or to receive a vacation allowance during the period of such absence.

  • Excessive absenteeism The parties recognize that every employee has a duty to be reliably present at work, and that failure to confine sick leave usage to accrued and available sick leave raises the possibility of discipline for excessive absenteeism. Such cases, however, are subject to just cause review and require systematic examination of relevant factors, including but not limited to:

  • Excused Absence No later than the 8th consecutive day of a pupil’s absence, CONTRACTOR shall notify LEA of such absence. If CONTRACTOR fails to provide such notice by the 8th day of consecutive absence, CONTRACTOR shall not be compensated for services delivered during continuing absence after the 8th consecutive day of absence.   • Unauthorized Absence An unauthorized absence from the work site or failure to report for duty after a leave request has been disapproved, revoked, or canceled by the appointing authority, or at the expiration of a leave, shall be without pay. Such absence may also be grounds for disciplinary action.
