Reduced Load. Upon the written request of the Federation, at least six (6) weeks in advance of the beginning of any semester, the District shall grant a reduction in load to Faculty Members designated by the Federation. Such reduction in load for all such Faculty Members collectively shall not exceed one hundred percent (100%) per semester in addition to the reassigned time provided by Section 11. Such load reduction granted pursuant to Section 11 and this Section shall not affect the Faculty Member's eligibility for sabbatical leave, summer school priority, or eligibility for other leaves as herein provided. The Faculty Member's benefits as provided in Article 17, Insurance Benefits, will be maintained. The Federation shall, for any such reduction in load pursuant to this Section, reimburse the District at the cost to the District of the replacement for the Faculty Member at the Part-Time Faculty Member's stipend rate, the overload rate or the rate of replacement, whichever is applicable.
Reduced LoadIn accordance with the limitations set forth in Education Code Section 87483, on the approval of the Board of Trustees, faculty members shall be granted the option of reduced load under the following rules: a. the faculty member must have reached the age of 55 prior to reduction in workload; b. the faculty member must have been employed full-time in a position that requires meeting minimum qualifications and District competency standards for at least 10 years, of which the immediately preceding five years were full-time employment, without a break in service. If a faculty member was on a board-approved paid leave at any time during the immediately preceding five years, such leave of absence will be counted as full-time employment, however, time spent on a sabbatical or other approved leave of absence shall not be used in computing the five-year full-time service requirement required under this subsection; c. the faculty member shall be paid a salary which is the pro-rata share of the salary he/she would be earning had he/she not elected to exercise the option of part-time employment but shall retain all other rights and benefits for which he/she makes the payments that would be required if he/she remained in full-time employment in accordance with .Education Code Section 87483(e); d. other non-monetary leave of absence benefits shall be reduced on a pro-rata basis in proportion to the amount of reduced load; e. the minimum part-time employment shall be the equivalent of one-half of the number of days of service required by the employee's contract of employment during his/her final year of service in a full-time position 87483(f) and; f. contributions to the State Teachers Retirement System (STRS) shall continue at the full salary amount unless state statute or rule or regulation of the STRS provide otherwise.
Reduced Load. 17.06.1 A tenured or probationary Employee may propose a plan to the Employer for reduced load status. Reduced load plans shall be based on the following terms and conditions: (i) sufficient notice must be given, normally nine (9) months. (ii) the plan shall indicate the teaching, research, service and other activities that the Employee shall carry out during the period involved. (iii) the Employee may choose revocable or irrevocable reduced load status. (iv) the Employee may choose a reduced load status of 20%, 40%, 60%, or 80% and his or her salary shall be pro-rated accordingly. (v) benefits, other than salary and those related to salary, shall be fully maintained. (vi) the Employee shall continue to have access to appropriate University services and facilities. (i) Revocable reduced load status shall be for a fixed term of not more than three (3) years and may be renewed in accordance with the procedures set out in Article 17.06.1. (ii) An Employee on revocable reduced load status shall maintain the same status as Full-time Employees with regard to any future programmes, such as early retirement incentives, that the University may offer to its Employees. 17.06.1.2 (i) Irrevocable reduced load status shall continue until resignation or retirement.

Reduced Load. 8 A full-time tenured faculty member may request a reduced load for one semester or one year for any 10 requested leave.
Reduced Load. There may be times when it is necessary for a faculty member to reduce his/her work load temporarily.
Reduced Load. A. At the commencement of the tenure year, a licensed unit member shall be granted a reduced load for one school year upon approval of the principal under the following conditions: 1. To request reduced load leave, the licensed unit member must apply to the current building principal for such leave no later than January 15 of the school year immediately preceding the school year in which the leave commences. The administration shall respond to the licensed unit member by April 1. 2. Not more than the designated number of licensed unit members in any one building shall be granted a reduced load assignment. The designated number of licensed unit members for each school is as follows: a. Palatine High School: 8 x. Xxxxx High School: 8 x. Xxxxxx High School: 7 d. Schaumburg High School: 7 x. Xxxxxxx Estates High School: 7 f. North Campus/Xxxxxxx Education Center: 1 in each building g. In the event that building staffing numbers change, the Superintendent and Union President shall discuss revising the designated numbers of licensed unit members in any one building. 3. A licensed unit member may not exceed a maximum of eight (8) total years of accrued reduced load assignments during the member’s employment. 4. Once an individual accrues a total of eight (8) years of reduced load assignments, the individual will receive a full-time assignment for all subsequent years of employment. 5. A reduced load teaching assignment may be assigned as .4 FTE, .6 FTE or .8 FTE, such that the staff member would teach two (2), three (3) or four (4)
Reduced Load. 26.01 A member has the right to apply for a temporary or ongoing reduction in workload, as defined in Articles 24 and 25, at any time. Any such reduction shall apply equally to all of the major components of the member’s workload, unless the member and the University agree otherwise. In the case of a professional librarian member, the reduction shall be applied so that the reduced workload comprises, primarily, professional practice as described in Article 13.02. 26.02 A temporary workload reduction would be subject to a career maximum of five (5) years. An ongoing reduced load shall be until the member retires or otherwise leaves the University’s employ. A member must be at least 55 years of age and have ten (10) years of service to be considered for an ongoing workload reduction. An application for a reduction in workload shall give reasons why it should be granted. 26.03 Temporary and on-going workload reductions shall not exceed one half (1/2) of the normal workload. 26.04 A member applying for a workload reduction shall do so in writing to the appropriate Xxxx or University Librarian. The Xxxx or University Librarian shall consult with the Chair or supervisor of the member’s department, and/or the Department or Library Council as appropriate, and make a written recommendation to the President giving reasons for that recommendation and sending a copy to the member and the Union. The application shall specify the proposed duration, the amount of reduction and the proposed alterations in workload. 26.05 In the case of a continuing disagreement between the Xxxx or University Librarian and an applicant for a reduction in workload, the application, the Xxxx’x or University Librarian’s recommendation as well as a summary of the position of the Chair or supervisor, as appropriate, or of the Department or Library Council, if appropriate, shall be forwarded to the Vice President, Academic for review and final resolution. Application shall not be unreasonably denied nor, if approved, postponed for more than twelve (12) months. 26.06 Holidays and vacation for members on reduced load will be pro-rated. 26.07 A member on a reduced-load appointment shall continue to have all of the rights and responsibilities, as set out in Article 12 and 13, that he/she had prior to the time he/she commenced his/her workload reduction, save and except where those rights and responsibilities are specifically altered by this Article 26. 26.08 The salary of the member opting for a red...
Reduced Load. There may be times when it is necessary for a faculty member to reduce their work load temporarily. A. Procedures and Provisions Ordinarily, the following will apply: 1. Prior to February 1, a tenured faculty member may request in writing a Reduced Load Appointment for the following academic year. 2. The request shall include the reasons such an appointment is being sought and must be submitted to the Xxxxxxx. 3. The Xxxxxxx shall review all requests and make recommendations as appropriate to the President, who shall in turn recommend appointments to the Board. 4. A Reduced Load Appointment will be for the following academic year. 5. The faculty member’s reduced load shall be at least 15 LHEs (including LHEs for alternate time assignments) during the regular academic year. 6. A faculty member on a reduced load shall have prorated institutional responsibilities as described in Article VI. 7. No more than five such appointments will be recommended for any given year. 8. Appointments are for one year only and not renewable in consecutive years.
Reduced LoadFaculty members may be offered special assignments (or projects) by the Xxxxxxx President for the benefit of the College. These assignments will be based on the faculty member’s skill set or special qualifications for completion of such assignments. In such cases, load may be reduced for the specific period of the assignment’s completion, but only within the limits outlined in this article. No faculty load may be reduced to fewer than 9 contact hours per semester and for only a period of two semesters. All assignments with required release time are for one Academic year only, and need to be approved anew each year. All such special assignments or projects will be shared with the President of the Faculty Association along with the load report each semester following the drop/add period. Faculty with released load assignments will not be eligible for overloads, except in emergencies to staff classes. Those emergencies must be requested by the Xxxx to the Xxxxxxx President for approval.
