Professional Courtesy Leave. Four (4) of the seven (7) days of Personal Necessity Leave may be utilized annually be employees for unspecified reasons with advance approval of the immediate supervisor. These days must be taken in a minimum of one-half workday increments. OTHER SICK LEAVE - ILLNESS/INJURY After all earned paid leave is exhausted, additional non-accumulative illness and injury leave shall be available for up to a maximum of 100 days. Compensation for this leave shall be at the rate of 50% of the employee's regular per diem rate. Any unit member whose absences are such that abuse of sick leave would be suspect, shall, at the supervisor's discretion, be subject to the following progressive steps of discipline: a. A meeting will be held with the employee and his/her representative, if requested, and his/her supervisor. The purpose of this meeting would be to review the absentee record and to agree upon procedures to be followed in order to resolve the problems. b. If the employee's record of absences indicates that abuse of sick leave has not improved since the initial meeting, the District may, at its discretion, request that all future absences be verified, in writing, by the attending physician. Failure to provide such verification will result in an unpaid absence. Throughout the above outlined progressive steps of discipline, every good faith effort will be made by the District in order to resolve the absenteeism problem. INDUSTRIAL ACCIDENT LEAVE Unit members within the District will be entitled to Industrial Accident leave according to the provisions of Education Code for personal injury. All employees in the unit are eligible for up to 60 work days for Industrial Accident or Industrial Illness Leave, at full salary.

These days must be taken in a minimum of one-half workday increments. If utilizing Personal Necessity, a 24 hour notice must be given to your supervisor, with the exception of 13.4.1 and 13.4.2.
Professional Courtesy Leave. 1. Professional Courtesy Leave is defined as permission to leave the school as soon as his/her students are dismissed. 2. If the need arises, a teacher shall notify the Administration that he/she will be using a professional courtesy leave. 3. It is further understood said leave will not be allowed on those days that faculty meetings are scheduled or Parent/Teacher conferences are held.

  • Professional Leave Professional leave without pay will be granted to full-time and regular part-time Nurses who are elected to the College of Nurses to attend regularly scheduled meetings of the College of Nurses. Professional leave without pay will be granted to Registered Nurses who are elected to the RNAO to attend regularly scheduled meetings. Professional leave without pay will be granted to Registered Practical Nurses who are elected to the RPNAO to attend regularly scheduled meetings.

  • Professional Development Leave A. Policy. Professional development leave shall be made available to employees who meet the requirements set forth below. Such leaves are granted to increase an employee's value to the University through enhanced opportunities for professional renewal, educational travel, study, formal education, research, writing, or other experience of professional value, not as a reward for service.

  • Court Leave Leave of absence with pay shall be given to every employee, other than an employee on leave of absence without pay or under suspension, who is required:

  • Professional Day The period set forth in the Professional Day Article.

  • Professional Dues The school district will pay the annual dues for the Superintendent’s membership in the American Association of School Administrators, Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, and Nebraska Council of School Administrators. The Superintendent’s membership in other professional organizations will be considered annually and may be approved at the discretion of the school board.

  • Professional Days The President of the College or the President’s designee may assign any faculty member up to seven (7) days during the academic year for scheduled orientation and registration programs, commencement and convocation activities and such other College sponsored activities the Present deems appropriate. Professional days shall be assigned no earlier than three (3) days prior to the first (1st) day of classes in the fall semester and no earlier than four (4) days prior to the first (1st) day of classes in the spring semester. Such duties and responsibilities may be assigned to individual faculty members in blocks in one-half (1/2) day or more; and provided further that a faculty member shall not be required to discharge these responsibilities over more than fourteen (14) days during the academic year.

  • Professional Service Consultant agrees that all services and work performed under this agreement will be accomplished in a professional manner, in accordance with the accepted standards of Contractor’s profession.

  • Professional Improvement Leave A teacher may be granted leave to be used for the teacher's professional improvement. Professional improvement days may be approved by the superintendent and used for the purpose of: 1. Visitation to view other instructional techniques or programs. 2. Conferences, workshops, or seminars conducted by colleges, universities, or vocational schools. The teacher planning to use a professional improvement day shall notify the principal at least one week in advance of the proposed absence. The teacher shall be required to file a written report with the principal within one (1) week of attendance at such event. Also, the teacher may/shall be requested to return with materials and/or information to be shared with other teachers. The expense of attending such visitation, conference, workshop, or seminar will be paid by the Board when the proper reimbursement applications are sent to the district office. In cases where attendance at a convention, workshop, seminar, or other educational activity is deemed to be of value only to the individual teacher, leave may be granted for attendance with either no expenses or limited expenses being underwritten by the district. In these cases, no written or verbal reports will be required.

  • Subpoena Leave 4.11.1 When a unit member is absent because of a mandatory court appearance, except as a litigant, the unit member shall suffer no monetary or sick leave loss by reason of this service. 4.11.2 Fees, exclusive of mileage, paid by the court or party requiring a unit member's appearance shall be paid to the District unless the fees are greater than the unit member's salary, in which case the unit member may retain the fees and be listed as absent due to personal business without pay. 4.11.3 A copy of the subpoena or certificate of the clerk of the court must be filed with the absence report.

  • Professional Development and Training The Company shall pay for or reimburse the Executive for any reasonable professional development or training.
