Other Sick Leave. An employee shall be entitled to use of his/her sick leave to attend to an 11 illness of a child, parent, or spouse of the employee.
Other Sick Leave. Employees can use the first three (3) days of sick leave for specified purposes if they are victims of domestic violence, sexual assault ot stalking as set forth in California Labor Code section 230(f) and 230.1(a). After an employee has used three (3) sick leave days (or work hours equivalent) in a 12 month period, the use of sick leave shall be subject to the approval the use of sick leave shall be subject to the approval of the Division Manager or Department Director who may request a physician's statement or other documentation substantiating the illness at any time and may require a release to duty before allowing a Field Services employee to return to duty. Field Services employees will be required to use accrued sick leave prior to requesting a leave of absence without pay.
Other Sick Leave. 12.8.16.1 When a member of the unit employed in the classified service is absent from his/her duties on account of illness or accident for a period of eight (8) months or less-- whether or not the absence arises out of or in the course of employment of the member the amount deducted from the salary due him/her for any month in which the absence occurs shall not exceed the sum which is actually paid a substitute employee employed to fill his/her position during his/her absence. The eight (8) month period will run consecutively with other paid leaves. The sixty (60) working day worker's compensation leave, in the event the absence is caused by industrial accident or illness, will be used first; sick leave will then be used. The member may use accrued vacation at his/her discretion before or after the eight (8) month leave.
Other Sick Leave. Sick leave days at full pay shall be in addition to the 100 days half-day sick leave pay.

When a Unit member has used the amount of regular sick leave and is absent on account of illness or accident for a period of five (5) months or less, whether or not the absence arises out of or in the course of employment, the amount deducted from the salary for any month in which the absence occurs shall not exceed the sum which is actually paid a substitute employee employed to fill his/her position during the absence or eighty percent (80%). During this extended period of illness, the Unit member shall receive his/her regular salary less the wage paid the substitute. In no case shall the amount paid the Unit member be less than twenty (20%) of his/her regular salary.

After all earned sick leave, vacation days and floating holidays, at full pay have been used and additional absence due to illness or accident is necessary, the unit member shall receive the actual difference between his/her own salary and the amount paid a substitute up to a total of 100 school days.
