Proportion of Salary and Annual Leave. 21.1 An employee upon appointment shall be paid as from the date upon which the employee commenced duty provided that an employee who has worked (or has been granted leave by the employer), for each day of the standard teaching year, shall be paid for a full calendar year. 21.2 An employee who ceases duty after at least ten teaching weeks of employment shall be paid the proportion of the employee’s wage for that year that the employee’s service, excluding vacation periods, bears to the standard year. 21.3 A standard teaching year is as defined in clause 5.13 of this Agreement. 21.4 The wage that is proportioned shall be calculated on the wage the employee is receiving immediately before the cessation of employment. 21.5 The employee who ceases duty before completing ten weeks of employment shall be paid an amount equal to one-twelfth of their ordinary pay for their period of employment. 21.6 A further amount calculated at the rate of 17.5% of the amount of wage payable in Section 13 shall be paid to all employees calculated on the basis of an entitlement of 4 weeks’ annual leave and, in the case where an employee does not work for the full Standard Teaching Year, then in the same proportions that the employee’s service (excluding vacations) bears to the standard teaching year. 21.7 Payment for periods of vacation leave and annual leave will be made as they fall due. However, an employee may request in writing to receive these payments in advance of commencing on vacation time or annual leave. 21.8 For the purposes of paying annual leave loading, the first four weeks after the completion of Term 4 is considered to be the period of annual leave.

(b) An employee who ceases duty after at least ten teaching weeks of employment, shall be paid the proportion of the employee’s wage for that year that the employee’s service excluding vacation periods, bears to the working year. (c) A working year is deemed for the purposes of this clause to be 40 teaching weeks. (d) The wage that is proportioned shall be calculated on the wage the employee is receiving immediately before the cessation of employment. (e) The employee who ceases duty before completing ten weeks of employment shall, in addition to the payment for weeks worked, be paid an amount equal to one-twelfth of their ordinary pay for their period of employment.
Proportion of Salary and Annual Leave. The four weeks of annual leave provided for in the NES is deemed to be taken during the school holiday periods or included in proportion of salary payments. A Teacher upon appointment shall be paid as from the date upon which the Teacher commenced Duty, provided that a Teacher who has taught (or has been granted leave with pay by the school) for each day of the College’s school year will be paid as for a full calendar year commencing on the first of January. A Teacher who teaches for less than one full school year will be paid the proportion of the teacher’s annual salary of that year that the teacher’s service (excluding school holiday periods) bears to the academic weeks in that school year. The proportion of salary shall be calculated on the salary which the employee was receiving immediately before cessation of employment.
