Taking Annual Leave. (a) Any employee may take paid annual leave if sufficient annual leave has been credited to that employee and the employer has authorised the leave being taken.
Taking Annual Leave. (1) An employee may, on application approved by the Secretary, take annual leave in either of the following ways:
(a) at full pay;
(b) at half pay (that is, by taking 2 days leave at the rate of one‑half of the normal salary of the employee for every day of annual leave credit).
(2) Where an AGS employee takes annual leave at half pay, any allowance will be paid at half pay rate during that leave.
Taking Annual Leave a. An Employee shall be granted four weeks (150 hours) annual leave per annum for each year of continuous service.
b. Employee may request and the Company may agree to cash out a portion of the Employee’s accrued annual leave with any request to be made in writing. Employees must retain an entitlement to at least four (4) weeks paid annual leave following cashing out of any Annual Leave.
c. Where an Employee’s annual leave accrual exceeds four (4) weeks, the Company will in the first instance consult with the Employee regards to the taking of annual leave. Should a reasonable arrangement not be reached within a reasonable timeframe, the Company may then direct the Employee to take annual leave to which the Company shall provide the Employee four (4) weeks’ notice. In all circumstances the Employee must retain an entitlement to at least four (4) weeks paid annual leave.
d. Where practicable, the Company shall give an Employee at least three (3) months’ notice of the date on which annual leave is to commence, provided that where there are particular operational requirements, the Company may direct an employee to take annual leave at a time or times necessary to meet those requirements.

Taking Annual Leave. The taking of annual leave will be by mutual agreement between the Employer and employee.
Taking Annual Leave construction site employee ▪ In addition to the provisions of clause 3.1.4, the following applies to the construction site employee. - An employee is entitled to three consecutive weeks of annual leave in the summer, on the condition that the employee has accrued sufficient annual leave to cover this period. Insofar as possible, at the employee’s request the employer sets the dates of this annual leave before 1 December of the year prior to the year in which this leave falls. - If the construction site employee is required to take annual leave during a period when the company is scheduled to be closed (i.e. collective annual leave), the employee is entitled to take an additional three consecutive weeks of annual leave, assuming the employee has accrued sufficient annual leave/scheduled paid days off to cover this period as well.
Taking Annual Leave general ▪ The basic principle is that the employee first takes the days of statutory annual leave and then any days of contractual annual leave. ▪ The employer will schedule the periods of annual leave taking into account the employee’s wishes. The employer may only deviate from the employee’s wishes if: - the employee taking annual leave at that time would endanger the continuity of the business and - the employer has informed the employee in writing within two weeks of the employee requesting leave that leave is not being granted at the desired time.
Taking Annual Leave uta employee ▪ In addition to the provisions of clause 3.1.4, the uta employee must take at least three consecutive weeks’ annual leave if this is necessary in the interests of the company. This is arranged in consultation between the employer and the employee.
Taking Annual Leave. 22.6.1 The Parties recognise the benefits of ensuring Employees utilise annual leave and will encourage leave to be taken by Employees as leave accrues to prevent excess accumulation.
22.6.2 All employees are expected to take their annual leave entitlement in the year following, when it accrues.
22.6.3 A newly appointed VSE is exempt from the yearly leave plan in the first 12 months. A VSE may participate in the yearly leave plan in the first year and apply for leave based on actual accruals.
22.6.4 Once leave has been approved it cannot be cancelled, other than by agreement. Agreement will not be unreasonably withheld where operational necessity exists.
22.6.5 For clarity, if a public holiday falls during a FSEs annual leave where they would normally have been rostered on a Saturday or Sunday, and a public holiday falls on that Saturday or Sunday, they will be entitled to a DIL.
Taking Annual Leave. Accrued annual leave entitlements shall be taken within six months of the employee’s service anniversary unless agreed otherwise with the company. Where an employee has failed to arrange to take leave in accordance with this provision, the company may require the employee to take the leave by giving of at least 8 weeks’ notice.
