PROTECTIVE CLOTHING/SAFETY EQUIPMENT. 2.1 Employees (other than casual Employees) will be issued with: (i) clear protective safety glasses, and for Employees engaged in outdoor activities, also dark protective safety glasses; (ii) standard construction safety helmet; (iii) overalls, or trousers and shirt where applicable; and (iv) standard safety boots with steel capped toes (after 3 months continuous service). 2.2 Safety boots will be replaced annually on the basis of fair wear and tear. The boots must be presented to the Company for examination when a replacement is requested. Upon commencement, new Employees (other than casual Employees) will be provided with pool stock overalls (if new overalls are not in stock). Sized overalls will be provided 2 weeks from order to Employees (other than casual Employees) who are initially provided with pool stock. Casual Employees will be provided with pool stock overalls for the duration of their engagement with the Company. 2.3 Company issued clothes will be cleaned and maintained by the Company. 2.4 After twelve (12) months’ continuous service, the Company will provide each Employee, free of charge, with a Bluey Jacket. These jackets will be the property of the Employee and the Employee will be responsible for their cleanliness and upkeep. The Company will replace the garment on the basis of fair wear and tear. The jacket must be produced to the Company for examination when a replacement is requested.

Each employee will be issued with protective clothing on the following basis: a) Five (5) sets upon completion of the employee’s probationary period. b) Four (4) sets each year thereafter. c) Clothing will be issued once a year with a new tracksuit to be issued every two (2) years. d) Safety footwear to be issued to employees as per the Rosehill PPE Policy. A set of protective clothing shall be defined as: a) one (1) pair of cotton overalls; or b) one (1) pair of cotton bib and brace; or c) one (1) cotton drill shirt (short or long sleeve) plus one (1) cotton drill long trousers. Employees shall choose protective clothing appropriate to the work in which they are engaged. Employees shall be responsible for the laundering of all protective clothing, including jackets. Any garment damaged in the course of employment, which is not considered part of normal wear and tear, shall be mended or replaced at the discretion of the Department Manager.

(a) Employees may opt to purchase their own safety footwear and upon presentation of a valid receipt may be reimbursed up to $100 toward the cost of the footwear. Boots can be claimed on a fair wear and tear basis. 20.4 Each Employee will determine what protective clothing is appropriate for use with respect to the work in which the Employee does. 20.5 Employees will be responsible for the laundering of all protective clothing, including jackets. 20.6 Any garment damaged in the course of employment, which is not considered part of normal wear and tear, will be mended or replaced at the Company’s cost at the discretion of the Department Manager.

  • Protective Clothing & Equipment While not being part of any issue of protective clothing/equipment, the company shall be required to provide the following protective equipment (SAA approved) for use, when necessary, by employees during the performance of their required duties: i. safety helmets; ii. ear/hearing protection; iii. gloves;

  • Personal Protective Clothing 11.1 On commencement of employment with the Employer each employee will be issued with the following; 11.2 Where the employee requires prescription glasses, the Employer shall ensure that appropriate eye protection is issued or where the employee has had his/her glasses hardened, reimburse the employee for the cost, provided that such glasses meet appropriate safety standards. 11.3 The above mentioned equipment will be maintained by the employee and replaced by the Employer on a fair wear and tear basis. 11.4 Intentionally left blank

  • Protective Equipment Licensee, and its employees and contractors, shall utilize and install adequate protective equipment to ensure the safety of people and facilities, consistent with Applicable Standards. Licensee shall at its own expense install protective devices designed to handle the voltage and current impressed on its Communications Facilities in the event of a contact with the supply conductor, as specified in Applicable Standards. Except as provided in Article 15.1, District shall not be liable for any actual or consequential damages to Licensee’s Communications Facilities or Licensee’s customers’ facilities.

  • Uniforms and Protective Clothing 33.1 Where the employer requires an employee to wear a uniform, it shall be provided free of charge, but shall remain the property of the employer. 33.2 Suitable protective clothing shall be provided at the employer's expense where the duty involves a risk of excessive soiling or damage to uniforms or personal clothing or a risk of injury to the employee.

  • Protective Footwear Effective January 1, 2014, and on that date for each subsequent calendar year, the Hospital will provide $120 per calendar year to each full-time and each regular part-time employee who is required by the Hospital to wear safety footwear during the course of his duties. The employees who will be required to wear safety footwear will be negotiated locally and set out in the Local Provisions Appendix.   • CLOTHING AND EQUIPMENT (a) Employees required by the Employer to wear uniforms will be supplied with an adequate number of uniforms appropriate to the occupation free of cost to Employees. Such items are to remain the property of the Employer and be laundered and maintained by such Employer free of cost to the Employee. (b) Instead of the provision of such uniforms, the Employer may, by agreement with the Employee, pay such Employee a uniform allowance at the rate set out in Item 1 of Table 5. This rate is expressed as per shift or part thereof, or as a weekly rate – an Employee is to be paid whichever is the lesser amount. (c) Where an Employee’s uniforms are not laundered by or at the expense of the Employer, the Employee will be paid a laundry allowance. For Aged Care, Health Professionals and Home Care Employees this will be paid at the rate set out in Item 2 of Table 5. This allowance is also expressed as a payment per shift of part thereof of as a weekly payment – an Employee is to be paid whichever is the lesser amount. For Nursing Employees this will be paid at the rate set out in Item 3 of Table 5. (d) The uniform allowance, but not the laundry allowance, will be paid during all absences on paid leave, except absences on long service leave and absence on personal/carer’s leave beyond 21 days. Where, prior to the taking of leave, an Employee was paid a uniform allowance other than at the weekly rate, the rate to be paid during absence on leave will be the average of the allowance paid during the four weeks immediately preceding the taking of leave. (e) Where an Employer requires an Employee to wear rubber gloves, special clothing or where safety equipment is required for the work performed by an Employee, the Employer must reimburse the Employee for the cost of purchasing such special clothing or safety equipment, except where such clothing or equipment is provided by the Employer.
