RDO Schedule a) The Schedule of RDO’s to be observed each year will generally be as provided under the VBIA.
b) Overtime will not be scheduled on any Fixed Long Weekend as agreed in the VBIA Working Day Calendar. This does not limit the right to schedule overtime on such weekends in the case of an emergency.
c) Where necessary the employer may, with the agreement of a majority of the employees, allocate work for some or all of the employees workforce to be done on a scheduled RDO provided that:
I. Where such agreement is reached, the union and MBAV are to be notified in writing by the employer at least seven (7) days prior to the scheduled RDO.
II. Such work shall be paid for at ordinary time rates of pay;
III. The untaken RDO will be re-scheduled to another day falling within four weeks of the originally scheduled day;
IV. The re-scheduled RDO’s shall be taken on a day or days adjacent to a weekend or in conjunction with annual leave, or as otherwise agreed by the worker and employers.
d) Provided that the scheduled RDO or any substituted day may be worked where it is required by the employer and such work is necessary to allow other employees to be employed productively or to carry out out-of-hours maintenance or because of unforeseen delays to a particular project or a section of it or for other reasons arising from unforeseen or emergency circumstances on a project in which case, in addition to accrued entitlements, the employee shall be paid penalty rates and provisions as prescribed for Sunday work in the award.
RDO Schedule. Working Day Calendar

(b) The agreed indicative RDO/Working Day Calendars for 2024 to 2029 are attached at Appendix D of this Agreement.
(c) For the avoidance of doubt, nothing in the arrangement for an indicative RDO / Working Day Calendar is intended to impose a limit on the ability of the Employer to determine with its Employees when and where work can be performed to meet operational requirements or otherwise limit the Employer’s right to manage its business and improve productivity.
RDO Schedule a) The calendars for 2006 and 2007, and Christmas Closedown dates for 2005/2006, and 2006/2007 have been agreed and are attached (Appendix J). Calendars for subsequent years shall be determined no later than 31 March of the year preceding the year under consideration.
RDO Schedule a) The calendars for 2008, 2009 and 2010, and Christmas Closedown dates for 2008/2009, 2009/2010 and 2010/2011 have been agreed and are attached (Appendix J). The calendar for 2011 shall be agreed by the parties no later than 31 March 2010. Unless otherwise agreed between the parties, the 2011 calendar will be based upon the principles adopted for the 2009 and 2010 calendars and agreed best practice outcomes on work/life balance pursuant to clause 5.2(f) of this Agreement.

(b) Work on Scheduled RDOs
(c) Work may take place on a scheduled RDO or on any substituted day where it is required by the employer and such work is necessary to allow other employees to be employed productively to carry out out-of-hours maintenance or because of unforeseen delays to a particular project or a section of it or for other reasons arising from unforeseen or emergency circumstances on a project. Such circumstances would include the following: excessive periods of inclement weather, matters not necessarily the fault of the employer which has led to the project being delayed or behind schedule, the requirement to meet the principal's work program and unexpected delays in the project due to scheduling of other works or
(i) At least 7 calendar days prior to the RDO consult with the effected employees; and
(ii) Notify the Union in writing (fax or email) at least 7 calendar days prior to the RDO that work will be performed.
RDO Schedule. (a) The RDO calendars for 2023 to 2025 and Christmas closedown dates are attached to this Agreement (Schedule F).

(c) Work may take place on a scheduled RDO or on any substituted day where it is required by the employer and such work is necessary to allow other employees to be employed productively to carry out out-of-hours maintenance or because of unforeseen delays to a particular project or a section of it or for other reasons arising from unforeseen or emergency circumstances on a project. Such circumstances would include the following: excessive periods of inclement weather, matters not necessarily the fault of the employer which has led to the project being delayed or behind schedule, the requirement to meet the principal's work program and unexpected delays in the project due to scheduling of other works or supply of materials, or work that cannot be performed on other days because of municipal council restrictions, or other relevant laws or regulations. Where the employer requires work to be performed on a Scheduled RDO (or any substituted day) because of the existence ofany of the above, it will:
(i) At least 7 calendar days prior to the RDO consult with the effected employees; and
(ii) Notify the Union in writing (fax or email) at least 7 calendar days prior to the RDO that work will be performed. Employees who agree to work will work on the scheduled RDO (or any substituted day). An employee may refuse to work on a scheduled RDO (or any substituted day) if the requirement to do so is plainly unreasonable having regard to: • the hours of work that will be worked by that employee in the week of the scheduled RDO; • the employee's family responsibilities; and • any other special circumstances peculiar to the employee. An employee cannot be required to work on more than two scheduled RDOs in any six week period. Such work shall be paid for at ordinary time rates of pay. The untaken RDO will be re-scheduled to another day falling within six weeks of the originally scheduled day provided that the re-scheduled RDO is to be taken on a day or days adjacent to a weekend or in conjunction with annual leave, or as otherwise agreed by the parties, such agreement not to be unreasonably withheld.
RDO Schedule. (a) The calendar for 2023-2025 is attached to this Agreement.
RDO Schedule. 43.1.1 The calendars for RDOs, and Christmas Closedown dates will be in accordance with the Construction Industry agreed calendars.
RDO Schedule. An Employees will be entitled to a maximum of 26 RDOs per calendar year; provided that the number of RDOs will be reduced to the extent of any leave, or public holiday, taken on the basis of 1 RDO for each 2 weeks of leave or public holidays taken. RDOs may be taken in accordance with a roster, which will aim to maximise the use of available permanent labour.
