Reappointment Review. All tenure-track faculty members are considered to hold one-year probationary appointments until granted tenure. Such appointments are subject to renewal on an annual basis at the sole discretion of the University. The decision regarding renewal must be made by March 15th of the first year at the University. In a faculty member's second and subsequent years of probationary status; the decision regarding renewal must be made by the Friday before the spring semester begins. The sixth year of probationary status is the Tenure Review Year.
Reappointment Review. The purpose of Reappointment Review is to evaluate the progress that the tenure-track faculty member is making towards tenure. Reappointment Review. The reappointment review occurs in the third year of the initial three-year appointment. The reappointment review is a comprehensive review of the faculty member’s progress in the preceding three years, including teaching, publications, grants, graduate student advising, and service. It does not include outside letters. On the basis of this review, the EC decides whether or not to offer a second three-year appointment, which will culminate in the tenure review. So one measure of success, or progress towards success, would be a successful reappointment during the third year.
Reappointment Review. A non-tenure track faculty member who is eligible for reappointment consideration shall be reviewed for reappointment prior to the expiration of their appointment according to the notice periods outlined in Section 11 of this Article. Reappointment reviews shall be completed by the Department Chair/▇▇▇▇’▇ designee. Procedures described in approved unit guidelines for non- tenure track faculty shall apply to those faculty members being reviewed for reappointment.

Tenure-track faculty members applying for tenure and promotion to Associate Professor shall prepare a dossier highlighting the faculty member’s activity during the probationary period. Faculty members applying for promotion to Full Professor shall prepare a dossier highlighting the faculty member’s activity during his or her rank as Associate Professor with an emphasis on the most recent five-year period. A summative evaluation of their performance and contributions to the University will be conducted. The results of the evaluation are to be used as the primary basis for recommendations regarding the awarding of tenure and/or promotion. A table of contents for the tenure/promotion dossier is located in Appendix A of this agreement. Faculty will be notified of the tenure and promotion decision by the last day of the spring semester in which they applied. Procedures for Faculty Evaluation

Reappointment Review. Reappointment review is a more formal process. Faculty members are appointed for two, three, or five year periods in accordance with an established sequence of one two-year, two three-year and unlimited five-year appointments. Each appointment requires timely review in accordance with the distributed faculty and librarian appointment chronology schedule so that notice of action is received well in advance of the effective date. Each review requires evaluation by the appropriate Department Head, ▇▇▇▇, the Committee on Faculty Appointments, the ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ and finally the recommendation of the President to the Board. The ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ and/or CFA may make additional timely requests for clarification. The review process is initiated by the ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ by the publishing and distribution of a list of reappointment candidates for consideration during the academic year. A faculty member seeking reappointment shall prepare materials in support of their reappointment by the deadline specified in Section B.1. above. The reappointment materials shall include:
a. current Appendix B
b. a current curriculum vita c. syllabi from each course listed on the evaluations
