RECOGNITION OF BARGAINING AGENCY. The Board recognizes the Union as the sole bargaining agency for those employees for whom the Union has been certified, with the exception of those employees excluded by provincial statutes and/or regulations or by mutual agreement.

Pursuant to an election and certification by the Illinois Labor Relations Board, the Village agrees during the term of this Agreement to recognize the Metropolitan Alliance of Police as the sole and exclusive bargaining agent with respect to wages, hours, and conditions of employment for employees in the following units: All "full-time sworn peace officers below the rank of sergeant" employed by the Village of Palos Park, excluding "sergeants and above, all supervisors, managerial employees and all other employees of the Village of Palos Park." Unless the context indicates otherwise, the terms "Patrol Officer", "Patrol Officers" or "Patrol Persons", as used herein, shall refer exclusively to members of the above-described unit.
