Recovery Leave. The purpose of recovery leave is to provide employees with serious medical conditions and/or disabilities the opportunity to dedicate themselves to recovery and/or healing with the hope of returning the employees to a productive status. Eligible employees are those who, due to a serious medical condition or disability, are unable to perform the essential functions of their job either with or without a reasonable accommodation. Recovery leave should not be used in lieu of a reasonable accommodation if one is available. This section of the Agreement outlines the process used to determine an employee’s fitness for duty and/or their prognosis for returning fit for duty. Employees who experience serious medical conditions and/or disabilities are encouraged to contact Human Resources with questions about benefits, including disability insurance, and other options, and to contact the Office of Institutional Equity with questions about potential accommodations.

Recovery Leave. (a) Employees who have completed one (1) year's continuous service shall be entitled to four (4) days' recovery leave in each calendar year.

  • Casual Leave (a) Employees may be granted casual leave with pay to a maximum of two (2) hours for the following purposes:

  • Xxxx Leave For laid off employees, sick leave accruals shall remain on the books and be reinstated if such employees are reappointed. Whenever a person becomes ineligible for reemployment and such person has not been re-employed, then, if at the point of layoff such person was eligible to receive a sick leave accrual payoff, such person shall be paid for existing sick leave accruals in accordance with Section 1408 of this Agreement.

  • INJURY LEAVE In the event an unusual circumstance exists regarding the original six (6) months of injury leave, and the employee did not use injury leave hours due to the injury or did not lose work time, the Fire Chief with the approval of the Human Resources Director may extend such injury leave. However, under no circumstances shall the total time granted be greater than twelve (12) months of injury leave, or an actual six (6) months of lost work time because of the injury.

  • Extended Military Leave 1. Extended military leave shall be granted to an employee who enlists or is ordered into active duty in the United States Armed Forces or a reserve component or who is ordered into active Federal military duty as a member of the National Guard or Naval Militia. Such leave shall be granted for active-duty service of any length or for active-duty training in excess of 180 days.

  • Military Leave An employee will be granted unpaid Military Leave in accordance with the Employment Standards Act. The employee will give as much notice as is reasonably possible and will provide a copy of the Military Notice when received.

  • Statutory Leave This article recognizes the statutory obligations of the University and the Union to provide unpaid leaves to employees for situations not described in any other provision of the Collective Agreement. Examples of such Statutory Leaves include: • Family Responsibility Leave; • Reservist Leave;

  • Donor Leave An employee shall be granted the necessary leave of absence with pay for the purpose of donating bone marrow or an organ.
