Rotating Shift Work. When, because of operational requirements of the service, hours of work are scheduled for regular and seasonal employees on a rotating or irregular basis, the Employer shall set up a master weekly shift schedule and post it not fewer than fourteen (14) days in advance, which shall run for at least twenty-eight (28) calendar days. This schedule will cover the normal shift requirements of the work area.

There may be times where it is in the best interest of the parties and operationally supported to have a work schedule that differs from that indicated in Article or In those cases the appropriate party will notify the other of the need for such an arrangement. No such arrangement of averaging hours shall take place unless there is mutual agreement. When average hours of work arrangements are agreed to there will not be any increase in the overtime holiday pay obligations above what would normally be incurred but for the averaging hours of work arrangement. Subject to the provisions below the parties will develop a work schedule in a format that meets the needs of the parties. The employer and the union may agree to average the employee’s hours of work over a period of four weeks or more. An averaging hours arrangement must be of at least three (3) months duration unless otherwise agreed by the parties, and: Be in writing; Be signed by the employer and the Union before the start date provided in the arrangement; Specify the number of weeks over which the arrangement applies; Specify the work schedule for each day covered by the arrangement; Specify the start date for the arrangement; Be posted or distributed electronically prior to the start date of the specified arrangement.   • Shift Work Shift work is work not in excess of ordinary hours (ie 38 hours per week), but carried out wholly or partly between the hours of 7.00pm and 7.00am, Monday to Friday. Shift work is work scheduled at least 24 hours prior to the commencement of the shift. Employees required to work shift work will be paid at time and one quarter of the ordinary rate per hour for ordinary hours worked.

  • Extra Work At any time during the Term of this Agreement, City may request that Consultant perform Extra Work. As used herein, “Extra Work” means any work which is determined by City to be necessary for the proper completion of the Project, but which the Parties did not reasonably anticipate would be necessary at the execution of this Agreement. Consultant shall not perform, nor be compensated for, Extra Work without written authorization from City’s Representative.

  • Hour Shifts When the Employer deems it necessary to implement a twelve (12) hour work day, affected employees shall be notified pursuant to Clause 14.05. The following Clauses shall be replaced or added to the Collective Agreement where appropriate.

  • Standard Work Week The standard work week for full-time employees covered by this Agreement shall be forty (40) hours, exclusive of the time allotted for meal periods, consisting of five (5) consecutive work days followed by two (2) consecutive days off. The week shall commence with the shift that includes 12:01 A.M. Sunday of each calendar week and end at the start of the shift that includes 12:00 midnight the following Saturday. The Employer retains the right to modify the work schedules to meet operational needs.

  • Overtime Work A. Overtime pay is to be paid at the rate of one and one- half (1½) times the basic hourly straight-time rate. B.
