Safety Clothing. The Employer will continue to supply aprons, goggles, gloves, and rubber pants for the use of warehouse employees where such equipment is required in the interest of safety. If other safety items become mandatory, under the Workers' Compensation Board regulations, for particular sections of the warehouse, the Employer will provide such items as plant issue.

The Producer shall supply, and ensure that while working on the Premises all Producer Personnel shall wear: safety footwear in compliancy with BS 1870; hard hats at all times when working on stage; protective gloves, eye protection, hearing protection, dust masks and ventilators and harnesses whenever and wherever appropriate. The Producer shall ensure that a sufficient number of named and appropriately trained First Aiders are on duty whenever Producer Personnel are working on the Premises and that all accidents, injuries and near-misses involving Producer Personnel are reported to the Company and recorded appropriately. In accordance with COSHH regulations, all substances require a suitable assessment which must be available for inspection. Storage, handling and use must conform to the manufactures instructions. It is a requirement that all flammables are locked in a suitable cupboard.

10.1 A Field Risk Management Committee, reporting to the City Manager, shall be established, which will have an equal number of bargaining unit employees and employees representing management. The Chairman of this Committee shall be selected from the members of the Committee. The purpose of this Committee shall be to review and make recommendations to update safety policies and procedures, with approval of the employer, regarding all employees covered by this Agreement. The Committee shall meet monthly to review safety problems brought to their attention either by management or the employees which may affect the safe and competent operations within the City. The Committee may make recommendations with regard to improving safety conditions and eliminating safety problems and hazards.
10.2 The City agrees to train certain personnel in the methods of industrial first aid as required by the General Safety and Health Standards (WAC 296.24.060) of the State of Washington. Employees required to attend industrial first aid training courses, on their own time, will be compensated for actual training time at one and one-half (1-1/2) times their regular hourly rate of pay.
10.3 The City agrees to allow employees involved in the handling of oil and other foreign substances the use of any available coveralls for such work.
10.4 The City agrees to provide all Operating Engineers with a uniform allowance in an amount not to exceed four hundred ($400.00) for the purpose of purchasing City-approved uniforms, which may be used toward the purchase of an optional safety coat in lieu of the normal coat, and may use it to be reimbursed for the purchase of required safety footwear. Receipts may be turned in for reimbursement in February and September consistent with the existing practice for jeans reimbursement unless directed as part of City-authorized work, uniforms shall not be worn in any environment from which minors under the age of 21 are prohibited, regardless of whether the City or the employee purchased the uniform. Alcohol shall not be consumed while wearing a City uniform. All employees are expected and required to report to work on a daily basis wearing the uniform provided by the City of Kennewick. Uniforms should be clean and neat in appearance, and shall bear the City logo and the name of the employee on the front. Safety Clothing. The Hospital agrees to supply the Power Plants with all the necessary safety clothing that might be required and to maintain a standard first aid kit in accordance to the WSIB Standards. The Hospital agrees to supply each employee with: Four (4) uniforms or two (2) uniforms and two (2) coverall per year or other approved substitution of the same value. The Maintenance Engineer will be provided with two (2) extra uniforms per year. These uniforms will be washed by the employer as per existing practice. For new employees, the Hospital will use its best efforts to ensure that the subject uniforms are ordered and delivered as soon as practicable following the completion of the probationary period. The Hospital shall provide based on departmental safety requirements and upon the Immediate Supervisor’s approval, protective footwear to a maximum of:
a) Steel toe and shank, and electrical insulated $120.00 yearly. The payment shall be payable April 1st and it is understood that the footwear and uniforms are for work use only. An employee shall provide proof of payment upon request.
