Salary Schedule Classification. Any degree used in qualifying for a classification must be from an institution accredited by WASC or one of its regional affiliates.

Salary Schedule Classification. The Associate Superintendent for Human Resources shall determine where all new Employees shall be placed on the current salary schedule. Consideration shall be given for previous experience that is applicable to the position. In placing a new WPSS on the salary schedule in category II, I, or IA, credit shall be allowed up to a maximum of Step 3. New Employees hired and placed in either the Specialist or Computer Technician Categories must be placed on step one.

When a WPSS member is transferred or reclassified into the specialist category, placement shall be in the following manner: the hourly rate the WPSS member is earning at the time of transfer or reclassification will be annualized. Such annualized salary shall be compared to salaries in the specialists’ lane. The WPSS member shall be placed at the lowest step in the specialist lane that still includes a raise for the office worker, except that if such placement results in a raise lower than the regular schedule adjustment, the employee will be placed at the next highest step in the specialist lane.

(6) Classification F requires: A masters degree plus thirty (30) semester units earned after the master's degree or a bachelor's degree or the equivalent * plus ninety (90) semester units and tThe appropriate California State Certification or the equivalent. * Blended credentials and/or blended masters degree will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis with the order of unit completion verified by the college or university.
(7) Masters Degree(s) A unit member who has one (1) or more masters degrees shall receive an annual stipend as set forth in the salary schedule appendices for only one (1) masters degree. In order to qualify, the degree must have been granted by an institution listed in the most current edition of the American Council of Education publication, Accredited Institutions of Post-Secondary Education Programs, Candidates, or comparable foreign publications.
(8) Doctorate Degree(s) A unit member who has one (1) or more doctors degrees shall receive an annual stipend as set forth in the salary schedule appendices for only one (1) doctors degree. In order to qualify, the degree must have been granted by an institution listed in the most current edition of the American Council of Education publication, Accredited Institutions of Post-Secondary Education Programs, Candidates, or comparable foreign publications. * For equivalents, see section G., Area Equivalents.
