The current model has two (2) half-day (3 hours each) sessions and some Fridays with planning not always within the school day (i.e., minutes may be given in larger amounts on Fridays and may vary weekly, but will be met by the end of the week.)

SCHOOL DAY/SCHOOL YEAR. The school day will be seven hours and twenty-five minutes. Each teacher shall be granted thirty (30) continuous minutes for lunch each school day during which time he/she shall not be required to perform any school activity. In arranging the schedule for staff assignments at the high school, consideration will be made to avoid scheduling seven (7) academic classes in a row per day.

In an effort to help maintain building operations, the length of the employees’ day includes periods of time before the official student day begins and time after the student day has ended. Building principals will determine and communicate these times with the certified staff in each building on an annual basis but the minimum expectations would be that staff are at and ready to work 5 minutes prior to and after the official start and end of the school day. Each teacher shall be granted thirty (30) continuous minutes for lunch each school day during which time he/she shall not be required to perform any school activity. In arranging the schedule for staff assignments at the high school, consideration will be made to avoid scheduling seven (7) academic classes in a row per day. The school district shall follow ORC 3301-35-05 that allows for a minimum of two hundred (200) planning minutes per week.
SCHOOL DAY/SCHOOL YEAR. Each Teacher shall have a lunch break of a minimum of forty (40) consecutive minutes between classes, free from assigned duties, between the hours of 10:45 a.m. and 1:45 p.m., unless otherwise agreed by the Principal and the Teacher. For schools with start times at or earlier than 8:15 a.m., lunch will be between the hours of 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., unless otherwise agreed by the Principal and the Teacher.

SCHOOL DAY/SCHOOL YEAR. The Parties recognize the obligation arising under the Pennsylvania Public School Code, 24 Xxxxxx’x Statutes, Act 46 of 1998 and Act 83 of 2001, codified at 24 P.S. Sec. 6-696(k)(3), with respect to the number of hours of instruction required on an annual basis and the number of instructional days per school year. The Parties agree that the number of instructional days currently provided in the Collective Bargaining Agreement meets or exceeds the State average as determined by the State Department of Education and further that the number of hours of instruction for students on an annual basis meets or exceeds the required number of hours of instruction for students as determined by the Department of Education. In the event that during the life of this Agreement the School District no longer meets either of these requirements, the Parties agree that they will meet to resolve any issues arising therefrom. Effective August 1, 2019, the workday for teachers shall be equal to the state wide average workday for teachers, as determined by the Pennsylvania Depart- ment of Education in accordance with the requirements of the Pennsylvania School Code. The Parties agree to establish a Workday Implementation Team comprised of eight (8) members. One half of the members shall be appointed by the President of Federation and the other half by the Superintendent. Should a vote be required for any action or decision, an affirmative vote and at least five (5) members is necessary. The Workday Implementation Team shall develop a plan for imple- xxxxxxx a workday that meets the requirements of the Pennsylvania School Code and supports student academic growth. The team will meet as necessary and will develop the plan no later than December 15, 2018.

  • School Year Teacher assignable time will be capped at 1200 hours per school year.

  • School Day The school day for members of the bargaining unit shall not exceed seven and one-half (7½) hours of consecutive time which shall include a duty-free, uninterrupted lunch period of no less than thirty (30) minutes.

  • School Calendar The Dual Credit course schedule will be determined by the location of the course delivery, provided that the required contact hours and prerequisites are met. The instructional calendar for the high school portion of the School will be based on the School District calendar and comply with all related TEA regulations for school attendance. The School District will adjust its schedule as necessary to enable Students to enroll in and attend the college- level courses provided by College. The School District and College will coordinate the State Student assessment requirements to ensure said assessments are administered without penalty. The School District, School and College will ensure that the School calendar accounts for the required per-semester contact hours for courses. When the instructional delivery is on the College site, it may be necessary for Students to attend classes on days when the School District is closed (e.g., different holiday closures). When Students take classes at the College scheduled on days when School is closed, the School District will ensure that at least one staff member with administrative authority be on call and available to be reached by the College’s Office of High School Programs or other College staff in case of emergency. The designated School staff member will have access to Student emergency contact information. While the College agrees to make scheduling accommodations for required State assessments, including the STAAR and End of Course Exams, all contact hour requirements must be met. For assessments not mandated by the State, the College and School District will come to a mutual agreement on administration dates in order to appropriately manage disruptions of college courses and ensure contact hour requirements are met.

  • Length of School Year 4.6.1 Except where reduced by any lawful decision of the employer to close the school to students, the length of the school year for each school shall be determined according to the requirement that schools are required to be open for at least 380 half days in any one calendar year. 4.6.2 The normal teaching load of teachers in respect of any one year is therefore related to that requirement.

  • Length of School Day 4.4.1 For each school the length of the “school day” shall be determined according to the requirement that students are normally required to be in attendance for two HD, one before noon, the other after noon. 4.4.2 The normal teaching load in respect of any one day is therefore related to that requirement and takes account of the normal timetabling practices of each school.

  • ALTERNATE SCHOOL CALENDAR 1. In this article, an alternative school calendar is a school calendar that differs from the standard school calendar as specified in Schedule 1 (Supplement) of the School Calendar Regulation 114/02. 2. When a school district intends to implement an alternate school calendar, written notification shall be provided to the local no later than forty (40) working days prior to its implementation. The employer and the local shall meet within five (5) working days following receipt of such notice to negotiate modifications to the provisions of the agreement that are directly or indirectly affected by the proposed change(s). The aforesaid modifications shall preserve, to the full legal extent possible, the original intent of the agreement. 3. The process outlined below in Article D.6.4 through Article D.

  • School Any public elementary or secondary school including a charter school, universal pre- kindergarten program authorized pursuant to Education Law § 3602-e, an approved provider of preschool special education, any other publicly funded pre-kindergarten program, a school serving children in a special act school district as defined in Education Law § 4001, an approved private school for the education of students with disabilities, a State-supported school subject to the provisions of Article 85 of the Education Law, or a State-operated school subject to the provisions of Articles 87 or 88 of the Education Law.

  • Distance Education 7.13.1 Expanding student access, not increasing productivity or enrollment, shall be the primary determining factor when a decision is made to schedule a distance education course. There will be no reduction in force of faculty (as defined in Article XXIII of this Agreement) as a result of the District’s participation in distance education. 7.13.2 Courses considered to be offered as distance education shall be defined in accordance with the Board of Governors’ Title 5 Regulations and Guidelines. Generally, this definition refers to courses where the instructor and student are separated by distance and interact through the assistance of communication technology (reference section 55370 of Title 5 California Code of Regulations). The determination of which courses in the curriculum may be offered in a distance education format, in addition to instructor/student contact requirements, shall be in accordance with the Title 5 California Code of Regulations.

  • Regular Full-Time Employees A regular full-time employee is one who works full-time on a regularly scheduled basis. Regular full-time employees accumulate seniority and are entitled to all benefits outlined in this Collective Agreement.

  • Regular Full-Time Employee A regular, full-time employee is one who is scheduled to work a minimum of forty (40) hours per week, on a regular basis.
