SCHOOL PLAN. An Officer who has completed at least one (1) full navigation season of continuous employment, or has celebrated his first anniversary with the Company and who succeeds in obtaining an upgrading of certification according to the following schedule: Watchkeeping to or ON ON to ON I ON I to Master Mariner shall be entitled to receive from the Company effective June in respect of time spent, a subsistence of three thousand and five hundred dollars ($3,500.00) provided that, after obtaining such certificate, the Officer remains with the Company for ninety (90) consecutive days. SCHOOL PLAN. Employees covered by this Agreement who are not paid on a full calendar year basis who obtain a certificate covering a qualification senior to the current certificate held by them and return to the employment of the Company will be paid the sum of Two Hundred and Fifty Dollars ($250.00) assist in the expenses incurred by such employee in obtaining such certificate. Employees who Class Certificate or better will be paid the sum of One Thousand Dollars ($1000.00). This amount is not in addition to Two Hundred and Fifty Dollars ($250.00).

SCHOOL PLAN. The School shall provide to the Sponsor a plan that describes how the funds will be used in accordance with applicable federal requirements as required by law. The plan must include sufficient detail to allow review of the plan for compliance with applicable federal regulations. The Sponsor shall have 30 days to review and approve the plan. If the Sponsor deems the plan unacceptable, the Sponsor shall provide the School with written notice detailing the deficiencies and provide an opportunity to cure. Invoices The School shall submit invoices by the 15 of each month to receive reimbursement for allowable expenses incurred during the prior month. The School shall maintain documentation of all expenditures in accordance with applicable law and provide to the Sponsor upon request. Expenditures shall be included in required monthly/quarterly financial statements.

For the purposes of section "full navigation season" includes a season during which an Officer is justifiably absent or laid off. If an Officer is required by the Company to attend a course during any part of the year then the Company shall pay reasonable costs, supported by receipts, related to the training course. The employee will be entitled to receive his basic hourly pay and benefits while attending the course as provided by this Agreement. All Officers shall be given thirty (30) days' advance notice, if possible, of any such to be attended.
