School Visitation. The BTU-ESP President and/or other BTU-ESP representatives may, with the approval of the principal, be allowed to visit schools to investigate employee concerns, problems or for other purposes relating to BTU-ESP affairs.
School Visitation. Teachers will be provided with one (1) day a year to visit another school and observe teaching methods and techniques to broaden and better his/her own teaching ability and skills. No more than two teachers should be gone from each building on a given day, and a visitation day should not be used in conjunction with a holiday or personal business. Teachers will be required to give a report to the staff in their respective buildings following a school visitation.

The Superintendent, without referral to the School Committee, may grant permission to professional employees to visit schools in the city or elsewhere without loss of pay when, in the opinion of the Superintendent, the best interests of the New Bedford Public Schools will be advanced thereby. However, not more than two (2) such visiting days may be allowed any professional employee in one school year, and any expenses incurred shall be paid by the professional employee requesting the permission.
School Visitation. Principals and counselors shall confer with other employees before scheduling parent conferences, except in cases of emergency.
School Visitation. Days for the purpose of visiting other schools or attending meetings or conferences of an educational nature, upon approval of the Superintendent.
School Visitation. Authorized representatives of the Association shall have the right to confer with members of the Bargaining Unit at work locations during times when teachers are free from any responsibility to supervise children. Such conference shall be held in the teachers’ lounge, teachers’ lunchroom facility or in any other room selected by the teacher(s) involved, provided that the conference take place outside the presence of students. The Association Representative shall make known to the Principal, or designee, that s/he is present in the building.

Authorized representatives of the Federation shall be the sole collective bargaining representatives of the employees covered by this Agreement, permitted to administer this Agreement and handle grievances on school property. The Federation representative shall make known to the supervisor or administrator in charge of the location, or his designee, that he is present on school property. Meetings with employees shall not be disruptive and shall be held during times when employees are free from their job responsibilities and duties. In no event shall more than three (3) authorized representatives, not to include the building representative, be present in any single work location without the express consent of the supervisor or administrator in charge. No competing organization shall be given access to school property to visit and confer with employees covered by this Agreement or for any other purpose.
School Visitation. 1. Teachers may be granted leave with pay for the purpose of visiting other schools to observe methods and programs which will contribute to the professional growth of the individual and the subsequent improvement of instruction. These days shall be in addition to any planned by the administration. Upon return from such leave, the teacher will submit a written report to his/her principal. Such report should briefly summarize the teacher’s observations and the relevance of the experience to the teacher and the district. If the teacher or principal believe the report to be of value, the principal shall make the report available to all the appropriate staff members.
School Visitation. Teachers are entitled up to two (2) days for the purpose of visiting other schools, or attending meetings, or conferences of an educational nature which will be scheduled with the approval of the Chief School Administrator.
School Visitation. Employees will be granted leave for the purpose of visiting other schools or attending meetings or conferences of an educational nature with the discretionary approval of the Superintendent or Board Secretary.
