Section 10.9.4. An employee on layoff status who rejects an offer of reemployment forfeits seniority and all 22 other accrued benefits.
Section 10.9.4. In the event of a reduction in force (RIF) employees hired prior to 2014 under the Maintenance 8 and Operations classification will be reduced based on seniority.
Section 10.9.4. 15 The employer may fill a temporary vacancy of twenty-five (25) workdays or less with a substitute 16 employee.

Section 10.9.4. 42 Employees who are regularly available as substitutes shall accumulate seniority while on layoff 43 status but shall not increase on the salary schedule. 44
Section 10.9.4. 27 An employee shall forfeit rights to re-employment as provided in Section 10.5 if the employee 28 does not comply with the requirements of Section 10.9.3., or if the employee does not respond 29 to the offer of re-employment within ten (10) calendar days from the return receipt of certified 30 mail.
Section 10.9.4. 39 For drivers only, the posting provisions included in the above cited sections of the Collective 40 Bargaining Agreement shall apply to the initial open position. Subsequent vacancies caused by 41 bargaining unit employees exercising their rights under Sections 10.7.-10.9. may be filled by 42 less formal means, such as a meeting of all interested classification employees.
Section 10.9.4. 47 Bargaining unit employees shall have preference in filling District-wide non-bargaining unit 48 employment prior to the consideration of non-employee applicants.
2 In the event of layoff, employees so affected are to be placed on a reemployment list maintained by the 3 District according to layoff ranking. Such employees shall be considered with current employees when 4 there is an opening in the classification held immediately prior to layoff. Names shall remain on the 5 reemployment list for one (1) year.
Section 10.9.4 the District decide to lay off any employee, the employee shall be notified in writing at 11 least two (2) weeks prior to the layoff. Such notice shall include the reason for the layoff, any 12 bumping option(s) available and any appeal rights. The employee shall have ten (10) calendar 13 days from issuance to notify the District in writing of their intent to accept any employment 14 option(s) offered by the District. Issuance in this Section refers to the definition in Section 10.9.2.
